Don’t be surprised if Tapdog does start as the trainer has done similar (distance back to sprint with a short break between) before with moderate success. Last attempt beaten just beaten just 1.5len behind Corporate Kate over 1200 after racing over 2400 at Ascot just a few weeks earlier.

Bunbury today:

Race 5 Prince Firebolt ex Victorian 5YO who visited WA once before as a 3YO in May / June 2004. Best performance that time was when beaten LHD behind Dainty Halo over 1400 at Belmont. Maiden winner over 1200 at Kilmore since then with last official start C1 Jan 2005 at Geelong. Given the lengthy break assume injury caused. Did run 2nd in 1000m trial at Bunbury behind Kame’s Hope just before Xmas and form fresh OK.

Race 8 Captain Woodrow initially raced in WA with first 4 starts (all at Bunbury) producing 3 wins and 1 2nd at distances 1100 – 1400. Then ventured east for a short campaign best result 2nd at Moonee Valley over 1000m October last year. Resumed to win C5 at Bunbury over 1100 last month and looks a promising type.

Davi 8th February 2006 10:02 AM

Bunbury race 2 like (6) Tribret. No luck at all last 2 starts the last a class 1. Back to a maiden today and should put win no. 1 on the board.

Early Express has arrived safely in Melbourne. At this stage good chance he will start in the Orr on Saturday rather then starting in the Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley. His two main race targets are still the Futurity and The Australian Cup.

Ade 8th February 2006 01:44 PM

Watch out for Cape North. I've been following him from the start cause he has decent breeding and is trained by the master, Fred Kersley. My father was an assistant coach in one of Fred's teams when he use to play football as a junior.

Watch out for Cape North, could one day become the new Northerly.
