Will be very interesting to see what Adam does next if those gear changes don't reap a positive outcome ;)

Hope things work out! If not, could be a jockey switch on the cards?!

Belmont Wed

Bit of mail around for the Keith Mifflin trained Bluff Point in the 1st. Owners family affair would be nice to see Keith have a bit of luck for a change.

Air Race and perhaps Deltamaster in the 2nd.

Sportivo the 3rd.

In the 4th Dee Picked and Baron Orczy.

Friars Touch saver Special Bon Bon 5th.

Race 6 Cubic Zirconia and Etcetera Etcetera.

7th Sky Spirit.

Key’s Ace and Dancrist in the last.

Belmont Wednesday...

In race 3 former NSW country galloper DEANGELEENA is having her 2nd start in WA. Fitter for run1, she will appreciate the extra 100 today but best previous form over 1600+

Another former NSW galloper BARON ORCZY will make his WA debut race 4. Recently ran a top 2nd to Magnus in Sydney but then failed twice in Melbourne. Now relocated to Perth and reported working along nicely for trainer John Price. Gone OK first-up previously. Blinkers come off.

Race 7 former Victorian BOYRACER is having his 3rd start in WA and obviously will strip fitter for today’s race. Best form over more ground but has been placed over 1600.

Another former Victorian ACTION SHOT debuts in the last. Also raced in Qld and NSW with some success. Better over more ground but has run well first-up in the past. Yet another former Victorian ARUNEE same race will line up for his 4th start in WA and should be ready to show best, and former NSW galloper BRIGHT CHARM will have his 2nd run in WA. The lightly raced 5YO gelding was well beaten first-up and exposed form suggests he prefers the sting out of the ground.

Belmont (Sat) Wrap-up

Race 2 thought a very good run by Last Reply coming from 2nd-last to run 3rd. Fitter for that run.

Race 3 HUGE run Let Go Thommo! Ran a faster time than Is Amazing for the 1200. Also ran the fastest sectional time of the day.

Race 4 Cape North bounced back to winning form. Nice run the runner-up Prince Of Vasac.

Race 5 Banner Storm lumping 57kg after claim wins again - 4 from 4 this prep.

Top runs the first three race 6 - Is Amazing, Electic and River Mist. Steptoe again disappoints. Hartleys Dream fails to show his customary dash first-up. Avenida Madero has her mind on other things.

Another solid run Woodala race 7. Winning stall just around the corner.

Race 8 Birkhall the one to follow from this race.

westman 6th June 2006 07:20 PM

River Mist = top run!

Big win by unraced 3YO gelding Shecky Evil (Palace Reign / Blazing Moon) in the fastest heat of the day (1000m), cruising last bit.

LADYOFTHEPALACE should continue on her winning way although both SUDDEN RECOVERY & RED SOVEREIGN did make up some ground on the mare last start over 2200 & meet LADYOFTHEPALACE a bit better at the weights today.

Maiden SCENIC HEART has ability but still to put it altogether on race day.

Sudden Recovery almost an EW special on his last run! I say almost as he has disappointed over 2400M previously.

Assume the pontiff was as impressed with Ready Freddy's debut as much as I was. With Harvey's engagement likely to be a bit short for mine especially from the extreme outside barrier. But will wait a see what odds we can get.

Top effort Ready Freddy at only 2nd race start! Used up a bit early to get to lead then fought on extra well to be beaten a couple of noses!!

Thought Sudden Recovery had just got the nod but had to settle for a dead-heat for 1st. Still nice profit even with the 1/2 win divvy.

As you predicted Chiquita they didn't forget to back Ready Freddy! A lot of money lost in that close finish!! Including mine :(

Agree He's Smoking a top chance partypooper but do think Price Regal the one they have to beat.

With you on this one partypooper. All Keyed up very good second-up record and loves the 1400M. Kingston Classic might be a good value place bet. First-up record not all that flash but the smallish field shoud suit and should be blazing home at the finish.

westman 10th June 2006 10:08 AM

For those they may not be aware True Steel crashed through the second last hurdle (at his hurdle debut) and was pulled out of the race.

It was originally thought True Steel may have sustained a serious injury, but on cooling down it appeared he had escaped virtually unscathed.

Well things have got worse! He is now fighting for his life at a Ballarat vet clinic after an apparent infection has caused his hind leg to well and truly swell.

Reported on high doses of anti biotics at the moment and is in a critical condition.
