Kalgoorlie Today....
Race 1 sees the WA debut for former Victorian Miss Mona. All 4 placing prior to journeying west have been at Geelong. Former Victorians Ticky Ticky Tembo and Abbasinga continue on with their WA campaigns in race 2. Ticky Ticky Tembo was placed 1st run WA and Abbasinga improved noticeably at 2nd race start in WA. |

Lucasdemandas
Was anyone else impressed with the win of Lucasdemandas ?
A 2yo having his first official race start he did the work both ends of the race and ran 1:11:28 for the 1200. Ran a faster time (and final sectional) than Run Benny Run who won an open handicap later that day and just .19 sec slower than the very handy sprinter City Of Ruins who won the main sprint of the day. Very impressive imo! |
Quote:
Early days WAOS but certainly worth following in the short term based on his performance Saturday ;) |
Quote:
What did you think of American Gothic's performance to win the last, Neiltown? Looked to me still scope for improvement! |
Quote:
Ticky Ticky Tembo ran a cheeky race DCFC! Just bloused out by the roughie Imperial Theatre. |
Quote:
Reported that Behn Scenic and Torrid Affair are both off for spells following their disappointing efforts in the Belmont Classic Saturday. |

In addition to Lucasdemandas thought Ser Grill and Field Commander the horses to follow from the beaten brigade. City Of Ruins another great first-up performance. |

Me wonders what time he would have run had he not been eased down over the last bit!? |

All Keyed Up a good win! Ran a quick final sectional. |

on with it. Will be up to a class 4 now , but worth following in a race around 1600m. |
Trials for Belmont, Monday 17/7/2006 - Track: Good
The fastest heat of the day was run by Exotic Nights nosing out Fire From Ice. The Key Business filly ran 59:75 for the 1000M.
The heat I was most interested in was the last. The unbeaten 3YO colt Desiarnez won hard held. This bloke looks set to continue on from where he left off! |

Belmont Today....
Race 7 sees the WA debut of former Victorian galloper Costa Verde. The lightly raced 6YO gelding has won 4 from 13 starts. Is better suited over a middle distance but could surprise fresh. |
I've backed Dancrist (Belmont R8 today) past couple of starts. Not won but been placed. Hoping he can get back in the winners stall courtesy the drop back in distance.
|
grey matter
At Belmont today we have Travellin Soldier & Beyond Blue in the 2nd. The 3rd Calarosa Donna. Expedition & Silver Deck the 4th. Crossing Jordan in the 6th and Mavericks Pago in the 8th.

I remember backing Costa Verde years ago! Thought he had retired. Lots of leg probs. Interesting to see how he holds up. At least this time of year no hard tracks. Best of luck to connections! |
