Northam, Thursday Race 6

Alpine Lad 1st-up should do well

Davi 20th July 2006 09:51 AM

From a good barrier Blue Cotton Candy looks a good EW wager Northam race 5 today.

watsonnek 20th July 2006 11:52 AM

Northam R4 like Jum. Only a few runs in the west but has shown enough so far to suggest he can play a big part in the finish of this race. Allgood & Old Times look the main dangers.

Thought a chance protest 3rd Vs 1st potentially giving Blue Cotton Candy the win, but not to be.

Placid Ark 21st July 2006 08:17 AM

The favs very hard to beat but I'll settle on Wire Detonator 8/1 EW.
Backed him in the last Winterbottom. Great effort to finish a fighting 4th behind Miss Andretti that day.

Going great guns!
Also won Belmont trial before heading north, so undefeated all starts in WA. Originally from South Oz from what I can see.

Great Nation & Gobiton look well in at the weights. Arctic Park & Yaya Lad not, but either could take this out with luck in running. Impressive Stats racing a bit below best in recent times but capable. Wire Detonator not badly weighted either. Bold Ransom will probably need the run. Silver Seam & Startego both honest but look a little out of their depth.

Not a bad field for this time of year!

Kalgoorlie Today....

Race 2 sees the WA debut of former South Aussie galloper Zoltan. Two runs in SA before going west and should give a good account in this. Race 3 former Vic Miss Mona is backing up after an improved effort last week. Obviously has backed up well after that race. Same can be said for another former Vic Ticky Ticky Tembo race 4. Race 5 former Vic galloper Get It Good is having his 2nd start in WA. Well beaten first-up but will be improved by that run & step up in distance will suit. Bit of money around for yet another former Vic Galloper Colonel Mustard last start. Better for that run.

Great return by Moodometer to win the 5th at Belmont yesterday. Today at Kalgoorlie we have Menonavajo in the 3rd. Young Milfred, Hot Time & Our Nicola in the 4th. Precious Lady & Speedy Jecka in the 5th. And Haka Star & Benny’s Raider in the last.

The Trevors Andrew's trained Turbo Charged (r1) caught my eye. Having his first race start the Blackfriar's gelding was charging home late. A very good debut!

Agree previous 2 posts, both horses worth a follow-up. Like to add Yaya Lad. Beaufine run was excellent running the fastest final sectional in the race.
