Not having much luck of late, young Clint. Starts his suspension this Sunday.
Peter Knuckey & Daniel Staeck will resume riding at Northam on Thursday after serving their terms of suspension.

Belmont R2 today

Oroya Gold finally broke his maiden status at Northam last start. Racing first-up he won the race easily by 4.5 lens with something in hand. A long overdue win considering he has now amassed prize money of $188,800!!

Up against a handy field today, goes up in weight & is racing 2nd-up but should acquit himself well imo.

Thought the jock went for him a bit early but other than that, looked to have every chance. Still, I'm expecting improvement next couple of runs.

Stewards report indicates connections [of Oroya Gold] will in future concentrate on races of a lesser distance [than 1400M)

Hayes to train Black Tom

Reported that 2005 Perth Cup winner Black Tom will make the trip to Melbourne to join the David Hayes stable. The aim will be to have one final crack at the Melbourne Cup.

Good tipping there mate looks like you're in a purple patch!! had a good collect on Contensious Miss myself, but overall I lent em a bit!! Mainly cos of Silly Boots, so there you go...

Well, Contentious Miss proved it no fluke by winning again Belmont Saturday, won by 3.25 lengths!! Thought the race fav, Galilei an ok run even though well beaten by Contentious Miss. No luck in running and was a solid run to get 2nd.

partypooper 14th May 2007 01:15 PM

westman, yes a good collect again, just as well as my other 3 win bets were Black in Time, Collegain, and Kaleido grrrrrrr!

watsonnek 14th May 2007 02:14 PM

Surely you had some on for a place party?!!

partypooper 14th May 2007 05:31 PM

watsonnek, nah, wish I had. This is a win plan that I run betting week to week small stakes in comparison to my place bets. Collegian just happened to qualify for the place bets as well but coincidence only.

suds 15th May 2007 04:30 PM

Hi partypooper. I've noticed that you spend time in the Philippines (as per a few of your past posts). Curious the state of horse-racing in that country, assuming they have horse-racing.

partypooper 15th May 2007 05:05 PM

suds, yes there is regular races in Manila, but my place is in San Isidro in the central Visayas a long way from there. I am able to keep in touch to a certain extent with Aussie racing via the net, but it's a bout 20 k's on a very bumpy road which turns to sludge when it rains so I just don't bother.

But as far as the state of the racing is concerned , knowing how everything else works there I would say it would be rotten to the core all the way up the Cheif stewards' cousin to the 10th degree, 49 times removed!!

westi 15th May 2007 08:18 PM

Belmont trials yesterday

Impressive Stats continues to trial well (winner heat 18 yesterday) although well beaten first-up at Belmont earlier this month. Set to start in the listed H.G. Bolton Sprint on Saturday, a race he won back in 2005. On the limit, you would think he'll be competitive on Sat.

westman 16th May 2007 10:41 AM

Yeah the Bolton should turn out a top race.
Arctic Park, Is Amazing, Mercury Halo, Impressive Stats, Always A Devil & Idyllic Prince, just to name a few!

We won't be seeing Always A Devil on Saturday! Out for at least 12 months with what could be a career-threatening tendon injury!!

Hi westi, 30/1 currently, it will be a hard race to win, but has a nice barrier, and the services of the duck!

Let Go Thommo (recovering from an abscess to his off-fore hoof) won't be returning home to spell. Instead will spell at Mornington & resume racing in Melbourne in the spring.
