Kal yesterday, strong fighting win to Western Crown & Moondance Magic getting back into some form, great place dividend.
|
Reasonably strong maiden. Form should stand up. The 2 behind Western Crown - Shiroko & Landscapes (both former eastern staters) ran good races.

Marasco
Marasco back at his Ascot stables for the past 8 weeks.
Kersley has plotted the Belmont Newmarket (1200m), with a ceiling topweight of 60kg, or the Goodwood Sprint (1300m) which is run at WFA, on August 4 and 18, as Marasco’s likely starting points. Champion WA-born jockey Damien Oliver is trainer Fred Kersley’s first choice to ride Marasco in his ambitious plans to tackle Victorian spring features. |

Thanks watsonnek , Distance races can be a bit tricky and always like to look for something at a bit of a price. Paid off this time. |

Beat The Storm and WRC both being aimed at the Railway... WRC will go for a short spell now and come back to be hardened up for for a bit more distance. |
Hi olivers puzzle :)
Yeah thought about it after posting & realised you were probably making reference to Beat The Storm etc Hasn't West River Charley been impressive this campaign! Close finish on Saturday and had to withstand a protest but did do the job with 59kgs. Read that his next start will be against open company, I assume based on your last post that will be first-up after the break. |
Spirit Of Bunbury
The more than useful 4YO stallion Spirit Of Bunbury has been retired. Found to have torn the tendon in his near fore leg after running 2nd in a trial at Lark Hill early last week. Just 11 starts for 5 wins and 5 places.

Neiltown, what an excellent selection!
I say that because with one or two differences it is the same as mine, probably no bet today as I don't think there will be any good prices. |
Westman/Phantom, just take a look at the replay, observe the Jock on Chillie Mussels in the closing stages, my god to think we put our cash on em'

Grey Monarch R1 will kick off for the grey brigade today at Belmont. Not beaten far all 3 starts & the 1650m should suit today. R5 Starlight Grey won & placed past 2 starts Belmont, Wongkaew a runner-up 2 from 3 starts since a spell. R6 Bluff Point is first-up today but has won 2 from 2 first-up previously. R7 sees Topeka having his 1st race start will be ridden by the pontiff. Same race Busters Icon has been placed 2 from 3 starts since a spell & Dancinginthepark will be first-up. Only other start to-date ran 2nd-last but was well supported & had the services of P J Harvey.

At Belmont today R2 Rich Ken suited the drop in distance, Cape Leeuwin should be motoring home & looks a solid ew chance, Summer Haze 2nd-up record ok, Vainekko was most unlucky last start & should do ok city class. R3 Call For Freedom has been racing as if today’s extra journey will suit. R6 Tributon fitter for 2 runs following a 5 months break.

Surprisingly good odds for Rich Ken, steve!
