Small field but the race holds a bit of interest with Marasco 2nd-up & the 2 Scenics returning from eastern state campaigns. Both are recent trial winners.

Lots of rain in Perth at the mo, might see a track downgrade a bit later ;)

Mr Quaddie 5th April 2008 01:23 PM

More than a downgrade. Ascot has been abandoned.

What does a double mean in tipping?

Yep a big downgrade :D cheers ;)

Mr Quaddie 5th April 2008 01:44 PM

What happens to the meeting and more importantly the plate and derby? There was some connections gunning for the Golden Slipper if it won today.

watsonnek 5th April 2008 01:48 PM

If track ok meeting on tomorrow, free entry.

Mr Quaddie 5th April 2008 01:50 PM

Thanks!

watsonnek 5th April 2008 03:13 PM

Mr Quaddie 6th April 2008 10:51 AM

6.3 is quite bad. Must be waterlogged. I'd say there will be a fair few scratchings.

Although Marasco won with a bit up his sleeve, he didn't appear to have the acceleration that he had a year or so ago...I hope it is just a fitness thing and that he has a lot of improvement in him

That blinding speed he had seems to have gone, looked like he took ages to win on Saturday. But looking at sectionals he still ran 34.00.
Scenic Shot was a surprise. Got flatfooted, but his last 100m was unreal.

Sad to see Westerly Breeze retire likely heading to stud in the upcoming breeding season. 5 wins (inc WA Oaks) from just 16 starts & placed on another 6 occasions. $323,850 in prize money. Watching with interest the arrival of any offspring.

watsonnek 10th April 2008 11:54 PM

Remember backing her in the listed Northerly Stakes over 1400. Got 20/1. Ran a bold race. Just getting warm out wide last bit finished about 1.5 lens behind the winner. Her last 600 was one of the quickest in the race. Not bad for a mare at best over middle distance.

iggy25 11th April 2008 12:28 PM

What say u guys can Megatic mix it with the eastern state's 3yos
