Yes, true!
Apparently 1 more run then prepare for the spring.

schonegg 2nd May 2008 10:34 PM

Back to Belmont !

Don't think I've ever seen so many short pre-post favorites on the same card.

Race 1 - Vain Raider $1.35
Race 2 - Ventoux $2.1
Race 3 - Vizard $2.1
Race 4 - Scenic Bullet $1.75
Race 5 - Snip Esprit $1.75
Race 6 - Danecay $1.28 !
Race 7 - Charlie Beau $2.1
Race 8 - Lambton Castle $1.9

watsonnek 3rd May 2008 11:56 AM

Perhaps Charlie Beau & Lambton Castle may start a bit better but other than that yeah surprising to have so many shorties.

thecritic 3rd May 2008 04:33 PM

Well, after that last race, is the next hot fav safe!? Charlie Beau, a good thing to win or get rolled? Has been a beaten fav a few times in the past! mmmmm

Disappointing again Charlie Beau. But being first up, punters will back it again next time :)
What about Vizard's win? As the caller said, under a throttlehold!

watsonnek 4th May 2008 01:09 PM

Yeah top effort Vizard, ran the quickest final sectional of the day & according to the pontiff wasn't out of 1st gear!!

Mr Quaddie 4th May 2008 01:42 PM

Too many shorties, i hope it does not continue

An ok meeting tomorrow, probably highlighted by the return of On the Warpath in race 2. Finished about midfield in each of his runs during the Melbourne spring, settling well back. The hot Pike to ride him.

schonegg 10th May 2008 01:23 AM

Can't see any recent trial form but I'm sure Fred will have him primed for today. Expect another good run my Major Canny same race.

Mr Quaddie 10th May 2008 01:18 PM

Paul Harvey should give up the ghost. He is so ordinary these days.

Great price Bealair. Now met & beat Major Canny 3 times ;)

watsonnek 11th May 2008 05:58 PM

Shocking run Major Canny, Harvey looked to give it every chance. On the Warpath all the better for run, went down fighting. Assume you were on Bealair, purplepassion, hope you got plenty. Didn't ping that it finished in front of Major Canny twice previously, otherwise I would have had a saver  I'll have to do my homework better in the future!

schonegg 12th May 2008 01:35 AM

Inarticulate is really flying, was an arrogant win!

I see New Spice has been nominated for two races at Flemington this Sat, 1400m & 1600m. Nice roomy track so should do ok whichever race they choose.

Dancing Sun 16th May 2008 06:34 PM

ill throw in Vain Raider and Inarticulate, obvious but who cares

schonegg 16th May 2008 07:10 PM

Some very good horses going around at Belmont. Also in the Doomben Cup we have Scenic Shot, in Singapore there's Universal Ruler, and you can add former WA galloper New Spice racing at Flemington!

Vain Raider, Vizard, Inarticulate are amongst the new topliners in Perth. They'll be favorite tomorrow to continue on.

The Bolton Sprint, Marasco at $2.5 looks way too short with the 60kg, but maybe that won't be enough to slow him.
Another top notcher Special Reserve is in Open company for the first time, and a few others with light weights could upset.

Dancing Sun 16th May 2008 07:32 PM

The west aussies are going strong and i can see them continuing that strong form.

watsonnek 17th May 2008 09:38 AM

West River Charley might surprise in the Bolton Sprint ;)

Neiltown 17th May 2008 11:59 AM

Didn't he motor!

Vaid Raider went too hard when taken on by Danana Smoothie.
Inarticulate went too bad so wanted to be spelling already! But shouldn't the trainer have seen the signs during the week?
Marasco won very well. Will be a short favorite in the Roma Cup.

re Vain Raider (Danana Smoothie) interesting stewards report "Stewards were satisfied that Jockey Pike had not permitted his mount to exert undue pressure on VAIN RAIDER and no further action was taken"
