no woes fellas ;) all sorted out :)

spelling then back for the perth summer carnival

schonegg 21st September 2008 05:09 PM

I'm not sure about that sportzfan. I think it's done a tendon and is out at least 12 months.
Marasco will be racing at the Ascot summer carnival.

sportzfan 28th September 2008 04:29 PM

thanks schonegg
thats bad luck
promising horse
hope all turns out well

schonegg 3rd October 2008 08:33 PM

The top action is in the east but Belmont has a couple of good races.

The 75k 1200m Birthday Stakes has a couple of headline Perth horses resuming - Megatic and Universal Ruler.
Megatic will get back from barrier 14 but goes well fresh. Universal Ruler was in hot form until that Singapore trip,
and from barrier 5 should get the gun run.

sportzfan 2nd November 2008 12:02 AM

..so, any excuses megatic?

schonegg 2nd November 2008 05:23 AM

No excuses sportzfan, had every chance yesterday for 2nd against a real up and comer Gilded Venom.

Things will hot up as soon as the spring carnival in Melbourne finishes, with the Railway Stakes part of the triple mile challenge. (The Emirates at Flemington is the first leg).

sportzfan 6th November 2008 06:43 AM

yeah, gilded venom did look good schonegg
megatic beat the rest pretty easily
expected more from idyllic prince!?

sportzfan 16th November 2008 04:35 AM

so, any feedback yesterdays races with the biggies coming up?
thought grand nirvana looked a bit unlucky...will fred push on with the railway?
great tussle famous roman / gilded venom...understand they ran a quick time!

Wexford 21st November 2008 06:39 PM

Anyone care to offer an opinion on the likely track rating for tomorrows G1 meeting?

crash 22nd November 2008 10:23 AM

ASCOT [good 3]
1/1
3/4
4/9
5/2,5
7/14
8/5

win or e/w depending on odds.

sportzfan 4th December 2008 09:26 PM

thoughts kingston town classic anyone?

schonegg 6th December 2008 03:50 AM

What's your tip sportzfan?

Some good types racing today.

In race 5 the up and comer Bold Scene is taking another step up and if wins will be favorite for the Perth Cup(over 2400m this year).

For a Lay I'd go Naval Seal in race 6.

sportzfan 6th December 2008 07:59 PM

alas i missed the winner schonegg...bold scene appeared to have every chance...the run of doyoudare looked ok

partypooper 6th December 2008 08:30 PM

Good effort there Crash, I was havung a bad day, but snagged the last 2 winners, (place plan 5 bets 3 hits for a tiny profit)

schonegg 6th December 2008 09:02 PM

Agree sportzfan, Bold Scene every possible.

Fast times again, track record by Niconero, and Garavanni earlier ran close to it.

both at ew odds cb cox stakes wed

tevez17 16th December 2008 12:33 AM

Think the Fuzz will run a much improved race on Wednesday, But i really like Gilded Venom think it's a great horse on the up and hope it comes to Melbourne next spring, I reckon it could win this by a way aslong as it's happy, heard it's not been it self latly maybe to much work, & probaly won't go on to the Perth Cup,

Don't what to think about Bold Scene not many excuses last time out i didn't think, but should still be there and there abouts at the end,

sportzfan 20th December 2008 04:03 AM

...hi tevez17..the fuzz..looked a top run wed

sportzfan 20th December 2008 10:21 PM

schonegg 21st December 2008 08:51 PM

does anyone know if guyno has trained on since his last run (c b cox stakes)...beaten 6 lens that day but could improve heaps (imo) in the perth cup...

schonegg 27th December 2008 10:31 PM

Guyno's trainer Lou Luciani must've read your question sportzfan :) , he posted this on his website today.......

GUYNO DRAWS THE OUTSIDE IN CUP

In what has been a somewhat frustrating campaign for my honest little galloper GUYNO, this mornings barrier draw seemed to be the latest in a series of "bad luck" events. In the thirteen horse field, GUYNO has drawn the outside barrier making his task just that little bit harder...... but not impossible! The only saving grace is that I have nobody else to blame for the bad draw as I selected the gate myself.

GUYNO raced for the first time since the 2008 Melbourne Cup when he resumed with what could best be described as a fair run in the C B Cox Stakes on December 17th. He made some late ground however he never sprinted to the line as hard as we have seen him do so in the past. That race was run at WFA and he does meet most of his rivals a good bit better at the weights in the Cup.

During the past week I have seen a nice turn around in the horses attitude and if he keeps heading in this direction I am confident that he will be as close to his top as I can have him coming off the gruelling two miles of the Melbourne Cup. GUYNO has been enjoying some beach work and bush work over the past few weeks and all in all he appears to be happy and trouble free.

His wide barrier was certainly not what I was hoping for in a race which I can see being run at a genuine pace. There are a number of front running types in the race along with a few others who like to race right on the speed. This should make for a very even tempo throughout and now it is up to his rider Jason Whiting to weave his magic and give the horse a soft trouble free run. If he does I believe we are in the race with the right weight and with conditions to suit. I can only hope that the sea breeze is in by Cup time as the bureau is forecasting a scorcher.

GUYNO will be having his last start for this campaign when he runs in the Cup before he heads to the paddock for a well earned spell.

sportzfan 2nd January 2009 12:00 AM

cheers for the feedback schonegg

schonegg 2nd January 2009 02:35 AM

Well done sportzfan, great odds!

Some other great performances on the day with Danny Beau running a track record 56.19, and Dante's Volonte a speed machine winning easily again.

sportzfan 2nd January 2009 08:02 AM

db vs dv...any chance of a clash in near future?

schonegg 11th January 2009 08:46 PM

They're talking Goodwood in Adelaide for Dante's Volonte. The Australia Day stakes at Ascot will be its next start so we'll see what opposition turns up.

jayjones1 14th January 2009 02:08 PM

that should be a good day out

sportzfan 15th January 2009 06:31 AM
