Jake, on target with your tips including Castletown Keys $8 (wide throughout!), Rocky Range $8 and a couple others.

Party, I think you're a place punter as well so with your three tips running a place a profit was made, well done.

One to follow from the days racing is Pete the Profiler, unlucky in the last finishing strongly between runners.

partypooper 12th December 2009 11:04 PM

Yes not too bad today, I am predominently a place bettor so in the money all the way, can't complain, BUT with some luck could have been another "Bumper"

jake 15th December 2009 03:53 PM

a place bettor..party!
fields 5-7 (ntd) ..do you generally avoid or play?

partypooper 15th December 2009 06:06 PM

Jake, a controversial one I know but personally I have found over an extended period its better to play, i.e. 2 out of 5 is a ******** of a lot easier than 3 out of say 14 *isn't it?, mmmmm!) anyway I find the divies are generally higher, but thats just my opinion.

Today 2 already in the bag + Pure Rust in the last

partypooper 15th December 2009 06:59 PM

Forum "egg" again, and deafeated by the PPM selection to boot! shucks

jake 16th December 2009 07:12 PM

last at ascot..playing my multiples around..russell road..dane smile..& silk force..

yeah party..i play regardless too..& as you've mentioned..divies can be surprisingly good..scenerio..ntd..

partypooper 17th December 2009 12:37 AM

Jake, I ended up just in front after the last, but I had Almighty Runner as a racing certainty EXCEPT for the draw, which is why I didn't post it and in fact only backed for the place. BUT my observation is (AGAIN) that Darren MCauley didn't rate it in his first 4, unbelievable; and once again it wins, just watch out for this , it sure seems that when it's a goer it's nowhere in his top 4 (nods as good as a wink ey?)

schonegg 18th December 2009 10:05 PM

Promises to be a good card of racing at Ascot.

R2 - The Market Mover is Keshaar. IAS have it 3.8 -> 2.9, meets Trustee Brown 3.5kg better than last time(both were a tad unlucky to not finish closer).

R4 - One of the best bets anywhere is Inarticulate. It really should go crunch. $2 fixed is short enough, add 6/9 for value in multiples.

R5 - Another shortie in Scenic Shot. Bar 2 is perfect, distance and race conditions perfect, no excuses this time. Worth watching a few others in respect to upcoming Perth Cup.

R7 - Crawford Stakes is very interesting. Leader Vain Raider. Topweight Vizard is the big query. No Trial so no idea where it's at, but was a budding superstar sprinter over a year ago. Ma Ma Machine has never won at Ascot, but has a good chance to break the duck. Should get into a good trailing position.

Good luck!

partypooper 19th December 2009 02:18 PM

schonegg, I agree, 3x equal bets on Inarticulate, Vain Raider, and Coiled spring SHOULD show a profit.

But I aslo have Casandras Shadow (owes me) and Given Vision as EW bets, gotta admit I keep going back to Given Vision so I'll stick my neck out and say best bet of the day, at odds!

jake 19th December 2009 03:06 PM

..would have been stiff not to get the race!..off to a good start..schonegg

partypooper 19th December 2009 06:03 PM

easy with retropspect I know but when you look "again" race 5, Lords Ransom top trainer + The Fish, and 2&1/2 lengths behind Snipers Bullet 2 starts back, I must start to study the form more!

Ade 19th December 2009 06:38 PM

Lords Ransom should win the cup easily based on that run.

Will be deserved favorite, good powerful finish today.

Party, yes, Durrant is a top trainer and a big-race trainer who has made his mark, especially during the carnival.(Jim Taylor been a little quiet).
But that Scenic Shot was not the Melbourne/Brisbane version. It's a classier horse than the winner. Easy to say now but it surely is a tired horse and needs a big open paddock tomorrow. Brown had to ride it hard out of the barrier to keep its place, then got shuffled back. No zip in its finish.

One to follow is another Durrant runner :) Golden Heart, from the last race. Was first up and had to work hard 3/4 wide, and expect it to hit back very soon.

Ade 20th December 2009 11:42 PM

I thought Lords Ransom, Right Fong, Gondorff, Largo Lad, Impressive Jeuney, and Almohad are the only chances for the cup.

Let's post a quaddie on NYE so we all can get on it for Perth Cup day.

Ok, hope we snag a monster divi:)

partypooper 21st December 2009 03:25 AM

well, OK, but we;d better not forget the ppm selection OR the 3rd letter "R", har har !

Scenic Shot has gone for a spell. Lords Ransom who won the Cox Stakes in convincing fashion has incurred a 1kg penalty (Perth Cup) for the win.

I heard he'll get a 3kg penalty, as Scenic Shot was at 57kgs, but with him out, weights will be raised.

partypooper 26th December 2009 02:30 PM

What chance Em Gee Brown?? I ask cos Darren MCauley doesn't rate it in the first 4, any thoughts?

jake 26th December 2009 03:38 PM

has to have an ew chance..party..racing in best form of career..

outside barrier is the worry for mine..i think will need a reasonable run in transit..to run-out a strong 1100..

..not betting in the race myself..good luck with yours..

partypooper 26th December 2009 07:02 PM

Jake, yes I figured it at least had a chance, anyway luckily I didn't back it either, not that that did me much good, I'm having a shocker!

Let's post a quaddie on NYE so we all can get on it for Perth Cup day.
Lets take out Impressive Journey, and put in Newport, Great Destiny, Dakas Gem, Geysers Peak.

partypooper 28th December 2009 12:22 AM

Lets just say THANKYOU Darren Mcaulay last race life saver!!

Ade 28th December 2009 05:35 PM

What happened?

partypooper 28th December 2009 08:32 PM

I concentrate on Darrens top 2, (which are actually the Radiotab selections on Unitab as well) 25% winners overall. But in this case Star Risca was a life saver! $12.30c (2nd choice)

But b4 anyone jumps on the bandwagon I can tell you that he's had a lean time just recently!

Will be watching with interest, the debut of Peggie's Choice, opener at Bunbury today. This 3YO filly is a full sister to Miss Andretti & a half sister to Danny Beau.

MyHatMyCoat 30th December 2009 03:50 PM

Peggie's Choice

For those that didn't see the race, ran 3rd, easily beaten, sat 3rd most of the way. Will obviously take benefit from the run.

Ade 30th December 2009 07:34 PM

What will be your Perth Cup Quaddie?

partypooper 30th December 2009 11:29 PM

Gee, it's hard to go past Lords Ransom isn't it? but NewSpice at it's best?? (not to mention Gondorf.) anyway there's my tri! + the PPM sel. boxed.

But remember if backing more than 1 horse for the win Sportsbet have a money back deal if your nag runs 2nd,...... by the way I have no business connections with Sportsbet.

In fact there is a new player who offers Best Tote or SP for the win AND also Best Tote/SP for the place, in other words best Tote place divi OR 1/4 SP whichever is greatest, if you're a serious place bettor you have to take it. eg. totes = $1.50c, $1.40c & $1.30c, nag runs a place @ SP $4 so the place divi is $1.75c

Not sure if I can post the name of the new outfit? ...... Moderator?

A good result today, backed GH + LR, + 2 others , missed the tri; but I'm not complaining overall.
