STRADBROKE HANDICAP

As the market suggests tons of chances in the big one

St. Basil big chance under handicap conditions.
Same comment Black Ink.
Daunting Lad better barrier & back to the Farm.
Street Smart to carry the featherweight of 49kgs.

Derby

Queensland Oaks winner Allow was extremely impressive in that win. The one they have to beat.

Still shaking my head in amazement at the way Gee Eye Jane accelerated to win the BTC Cup. Has to be a real chance in this.

Equally impressive was La Montagna's win 2 starts back. On the limit in this.

Last year's winner St Basil on track for a big run again.

Don't like the Derby much especially now the track is rain affected. So for an interest will have a little EW (11) Master Denis & (14) Loanhead. Also (4) Our Roman Chariot who you would expect (from NZ) will handle the going.

The top-weight Danleigh. Slow track winner and ideally suited by the 1600 today..

That listed race is at Cheltenham Sat - the Dermody Stakes for 2&3YOs

Sportz 27th July 2006 10:33 AM

Guys,

After the Brisbane Carnival finishes in early June, there is then a gap of about 3 months before the next group 1 race (in early September I think).
