My Bets

Instead of laying the selections which was been very profitable to me I will now back the other horses on Betfair S.P. (and NSW TAB) and hope it is profitable because of the lower liability.

Swan Hill
5/ 2, 3, 4, 5, 8

Grafton
4/ 1, 2, 3, 4, 6

Canberra
1/ 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7
2/ 1, 2, 4, 6
3/ 1, 3, 5, 6
6/ 1, 3, 4, 8

michaelg 8th June 2012 04:14 PM

Today wasn't too bad a day.

Betfair S.P. result - won $9.51. The TAB had a small loss of $1.10.

The quinella outlay was $57 and the return was $81.

The Forum Curse did not raise its ugly head but that might change tomorrow.

I didn't have time earlier to look at Belmont.

The qualifying races and their selections are:

Belmont
3/ 2, 3, 6, 7, 9
6/ 1, 3, 4, 5.

Currently the method is in profit even thought there have been an unusually high amount of losing races.

michaelg 10th June 2012 07:20 AM

Yesterday was an exceptionally bad day when it came to races where the winner was not struck. These wipe-outs have been averaging about 15 in every 100 races but yesterday there were 10 from the 30 races.

In spite of that the result on Betfair was a profit of $7.99. It's disappointing but not too discouraging.

Hopefully today will put some life-blood back into the system.

michaelg 10th June 2012 09:14 AM

Yesterday I missed Rockhampton because it was on a different page of the Telegraph form guide. If I had noticed it, the Betfair outlay just for that venue would have been $165 and the return about $490 for a profit of about $320.

Even though I'm not happy about it, at least the method shows promise.

Today's selections are:

Sapphire Coast
1/ 1, 2, 3, 4
3/ 1, 2, 3, 6
5/ 1, 3, 4, 5
6/ 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8

Kempsey
1/ 1, 3, 4, 5, 8
2/ 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Sunshine Coast
1/ 2, 3, 5, 7
2/ 1, 2, 5, 9
3/ 2
4/ 5, 6, 12
5/ 2, 6
6/ 6, 8
7/ 3, 8
8/ 1, 4, 5

Port Augusta
1/ 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11
2/ 1, 2, 3, 4, 6
5/ 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

michaelg 10th June 2012 05:10 PM

A losing day because many of the faves won. I mistakenly backed an incorrect horse which won paying $20, and on the day I won over $100.

I might rest the method for the time being as I had (am still having) an excellent day on Laying The Field by testing two new systems.

I might give them a go in England tonight.

The Sunday curse is alive and well, glad I stayed out again.

Yes, starting to see Sundays the same way CP, another miserable Sunday for my 'overs' selections - 'champagne Saturdays' followed by 'bad home brew Sundays' seems to an undeniable trend;)

michaelg 10th June 2012 06:30 PM

Today my laying had a very good day because most of the the faves in my races lost.

However, my qualifying Lay races are generally of 11 and more starters, and more often than not my worst result is if the fave wins the race.

The Sunday Gold Mine continued, although not as good as usual, and I had my 5th, (yes that's 5) account closed by Sportsbet, even though it was behind on the day. Big girls.

Chrome Prince 11th June 2012 08:45 AM

Glad you had a good day Mark, I just can't get my head around Sundays.
The favourite strike rate was 30.30%, whereas Saturday was 27.10%

Bhagwan 11th June 2012 08:58 AM

Hi Mark,
Is there a reason why Sportsbet goes around closing people accounts?

As you have stated , they have closed 5 accounts of yours.

garyf 11th June 2012 11:21 AM

Have you tried Tom Waterhouse if his products,

Suit your style of betting.

When my account was closed with sportsbet i went to,
Him and the only thing that happened to me was he banned me from placing bets over the internet but was free to place them over the phone.

Something to do with phone customers they tend to bet back into,
The tote pools but internet customers they don't bother that much with.

They didn't tell me that officially have heard that on the grapevine,
so can't confirm have heard Luxbet aren't to bad,
But i have never bet with them maybe some others can relate.

Again it comes down to what products are offered and does it suit you.?

Cheers.
Garyf.

Mark 11th June 2012 11:22 AM

All they ever do is quote their rules which state they may close or restrict any account at any time and give no reason, and they are protected by the toothless tiger that is the NT Racing Commission. I know because when it first happened I put in a written complaint. They took approximately a month to reply simply requoting Sportsbet. The whole system is a disgrace and a joke.

The Ocho 11th June 2012 11:28 AM

I thought you were a lay bettor Mark? Why would you therefore need backing accounts?

Mark 11th June 2012 11:39 AM

garyf, have never tried TW as he doesn't bet fixed odds on all races and always seems to be unders. What's the story with stopping people from betting over the net?, I thought iwas a net based business, seems strange.

I had an a/c with Lux but they are chronically unders and have a nasty habit of reducing the price after a bet is confirmed.

Arbing, The Ocho, arbing, there are some fantastic opportunities to be had.

Sportsbet "kindly" offered me their tote odds, yeah great why don't I just flush my money now.

garyf 11th June 2012 11:57 AM

Fair enough.

I actually joined for the best of 3 totes options.
As with my betting and my rules i usually bet late,
As thats the way my cutoffs etc are designed.

Impossible for me at home betting 7 days a week to get,
Top fluctuation if the 3 totes are short and the fixed odds are longer,
As a rule of thumb i wait till the very 1st time the horse shortens,
Then place my bet.

Not sure why the phone only was introduced as i stated,
I think he tends to put winning punters to the phone option,
So he can bet back into the tote pools from time to time,
Probably to get the commission.

The losing punters on the internet maybe he doesn't worry about,
"BUTTTTT" i could be wrong no official explanation given.

It was either that or go elsewhere not a big deal for me really.

Cheers.
