SMS from the comp

I'm wanting to set it up so I can send SMS's from the comp, I've come across this link SMSfromBrowser, but just a bit apprehensive, anyone heard of them or know of another site that is safe?

Since you are paying for SMS no matter how you send it, why not use Skype?
It's cheaper and relatively 'safe'.

This looks interesting provided you have an Android phone.

I just tested it, very simple and uses your own phone number and network, if you use an Android look in the play store for Mightytext.

I may be wrong but I have the feeling that you pay for your SMS to your carrier no matter which way you send it.
The programme you use may well be free to use but!

Shaun
At the end of that article " Remember, standard texting rates still apply."

Shaun 30th September 2015 10:22 AM

They do apply if you pay for them, but since mine is unlimited it is free, the way this app works is it will link to your phone via google services and google account that is already logged in on your phone, the same way the play store does as you can go to google and see the list of currently installed apps on your phone, i know it said on the free version there is some form of advertising i think that is on the webpage.

I guess the biggest issue is security as this would just be another breach, but would be a great app if you are working away on your pc or even tablet with your phone in your pocket you could access several txt at once with out grabbing for the phone.

I was talking about your phone service carrier not your IP. I may be wrong only way you can find out is to use it and then check your mobile phone bill.
I never use SMS so it's no use to me.

Yep, test and see, the one thing i like about this is it is sync, so if i have to leave mid convo the conversation is on my phone, security is always an issue, if you don't actually log out from the website then all your txt messages are there to be seen by whom ever uses the pc and happen to click on the site, they could read them in real time and even respond, now that could be scary as the person on the other end would have no idea it wasn't from you.
