Since no one has answered.

I heard many years ago that www.speedratings.com.au was ok. I haven't used them so take that recommendation with a grain of salt.

You could use Racingandsports time ratings although they are not the best. You really need to do your own calcs based on the figures provided.

Keep in mind Australian racing is very different to US Racing. Its more of a sit and sprint type of race here in Australia rather then a full pelt all race like it is in the US. For this reason in Australian racing you are better analysing the sectionals. You want horses that can win the sprint at the end of the race (last sectional), while also being able to get into a favorable position (first sectional) and hold that position (middle sectionals).

no worries. The last sectionals are the all important figures :) You can get away with not even looking at the others in some cases. You lso obiovusly need to take the sectionals in relation to pace. A slowly run race will have horses sprint faster in the final sectional, but a fast run race will obviously dampen that final speed in the last sectional.

I love how there are so many ways to analyse a race.

Welcome Ozzie,

Racing.com gives sectionals (and splits) for all Victorian and South Australian races. It also gives Steward Reports, Race replays (Full and last 400m) as well as Jockey and Trainer interviews.
