In your experience will a re-install affect the files I already have in the c:/price directory?

When anything like that happens, send Neale a message. He will probably have to give you a new access code to reinstall the program.
I have had to do similar things a couple of times.

Just downloaded PPP to same directory- no problem.
It's good to know that this program can be re-installed without having to jump thru all the hoops like "others"
