Elsie The Eagle was not extended same heat to run a close 2nd to Volition. Elsie The Eagle had to trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards following her late withdrawal at the barrier at Ascot Jan 21.

Another good trial winner yesterday was the unraced 2yo gelding Master Jack. Master Jack was settled in last position by The Fish before storming home to win by 1½ lengths unextended.

However watch for a name change before the geldings first official race start. Racing and Wagering WA officials have advised trainer George Daly that the gelding would not be allowed to race under the name Master Jack as he could be confused with another WA galloper Marsta Jac who has started in the city and at provincial tracks this season.
