In-line version (though with a huge amount of preceding whitespace that automatically gets added to the table tag)
Yes, because you're putting a table within a table and mixing html with php.

I'm not attempting to print a list, I'm trying to print a table so that each field is aligned and the information is easy to find and read.
I just used some google-fu to find this "easy" solution:

I so want to use RodneyMullen in all my other threads now
But seriously, some good tips there on formatting that I think I will be using.

Kew Gardens received a 1kg penalty after his Group 1 English St Leger victory over the weekend: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hk7hi5JjkWY. He's now at the top of the Order of Entry, though it seems he's no sure thing, perhaps/likely contesting the Arc instead. If you like the formline though, then Cross Counter beat Kew Gardens by 1.5L in the start prior, in track record time, would have a slight 0.5kg weight advantage in the Cup, is at #24 in the Order of Entry and is definitely coming to Melbourne.
Other Cup nominees said to be in quarantine already:
•Best Solution (#3 in the Order of Entry)
•Cliffs Of Moher (#6)
•Chestnut Coat (#17)
•Sound Check (#19)
•Cross Counter (#24)
•Red Verdon (#40)
•Count Octave (#41)
•Sole Impact (#50)
•Prince Of Arran (#55)
•Dal Harrald (#64)
•Langley (yet to qualify)
•Shraaoh (yet to qualify)
Apparently there's a bit of a squeeze for spots at Werribee and there are fears that some may miss out. It likely won't be clear until September 27th, the latest any northern hemisphere Cup horses must enter quarantine.
Winning the Irish St Leger was Flag Of Honour, who in turn gained a 1.5kg penalty - bringing him to 52.5kg and 7th spot in the order. He beat other Cup nominees Latrobe (2.7L) and Idaho (7L). Latrobe and Flag Of Honour both carried 57.5kg; the former is at 52kg in the Cup. Idaho carried 61kg in the St Leger and has 56kg in the Cup. The penalty seems warranted.
Vinnie Roe won four Irish St Legers in succession. All of them much faster than Flag of Honour managed. Wicklow Brave won it in 2016 in much the same time.
A runner who got a penalty - and actually wanted one - was Thomas Hobson. He was penalised 1kg after his Group 2 Doncaster Cup win, which takes him to 54th in the order of entry.
Max Dynamite was a narrow second. They both carried 59.5kg in that race but Max - in 35th in the Order - still carries 1kg more in the Cup.
Here's the full Order of Entry as at September 17th: https://cdn.racing.com/-/media/rv/2...pt-17.pdf?la=en
Last year the lowest ranked runner to make the final field was Thomas Hobson in.....54th. Same position as he's in now, funnily enough. Though he only made the race on account of Jon Snow getting ruled out by vets on race eve. The next highest was 48th.
Regarding those who hadn't qualified by this stage last year, of the 62 only Amelie's Star (Bart Cummings exemption), Boom Time (Caulfield Cup) and Cismontane (Lexus Stakes) made the final field
One of the leading faves, Torcedor, ran in Germany last night: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tc1TXRF5Agk
Apparently the track was a bog, the horse didn't like it and the rider looked after him in the race. Australian Bloodstock consequently aren't fussed about his last placing. From here it's into quarantine and straight to the Cup, in which Torcedor is fourth in the order of entry.
I've already got it ruled out due to carrying 57kg which only one horse has won with 57kg or more in the last 16 years which was makaybe diva who basically defied all melbourne cup rules. Torcedor won't be seeing any of my money. There's also been only two 7 year olds in the last 16 years and Makaybe was one of those as well, the other being Almandin which essentially puts another query over Torcedor's chances.
