..... and that is the bane of the punters week. Screams of HAPPINESS when winners "clump" and screams of UNHAPPINESS when losers clump. It's also the reason I keep withdrawing funds rather than carrying on and increasing wager size. As you know my biggest biggest loss was on a first-up (157 days) 3 legged horse with a fat apprentice jockey and an outside barrier .... that was a 5 figure hit.

When I was doing my BSc (Maths) I constantly pressed all my tutors etc. re "data clumping" ..... and the best that I found was a back reference to dealing with chaotic systems which said ... "you can't deal with chaotic systems".

So, I pay my Rates, Water, Data, Groceries and Strickety and am thinking of sending Mr Jack to The Karrie Webb Charm School with what's left. :-)

Early night tonight .... only 8 UK races interest me.

You have to be doing better then me. Still down a few thousand for the last week. The last few days has been basically win, lose, win, lose, win , lose, win ,lose.

Just waiting for that winning run to go on a streak again and push me to a new bank high.

...... and that's what I see as the major hurdle. We can reduce every element in the race down to a percentage and then ascribe to it what we perceive as the "risk" of the horse winning or losing and then throw it into a similar set of data involving 7 - 13 others then the W/L resultant is bound to be 'chaotic'. We can calculate a 'likelyhood' of runs of ins/outs occurring (remember TwoNix?) BUT that doesn't mean that it will come to pass. Some years ago at Darwin's Diamond Beach Casino I ran into a 28 Even numbers procession when I was betting Odd, broke my heart and bank. "It can't happen" say all hands and the cook, but it can and does :-( So, now I protect myself by shifting lumps of the bank away from the temptation of my idiocy and sticking to $21/$11 Lays ($300-$600 Liability). UB ... you have a good day.

I get where you are coming from and that is why I am ultra conservative in my staking. Mind you I am always pulling money out into another account. No need leaving it sitting with the bookie when I don't need that much in there.

Had a shocker today. Lost more today than most people earn for their job in a week. Can't complain though as the previous two days were superb. It will take me a few days to recover from this loss, maybe as long as a 7-10 average days. But big losses come with the territory when your betting and winning big every other day.
