Thorns ,Anyone have any ideas or methods they use when they are staking multiple runners a race to win? So far I have:

When I read posts about multiple bettings, ( for win in this case ), 99 % are in the mind-set of of say, 100 units to bet with method for example.

There is another method, it works, provided your selection methods are good.

I'll use round number for simplicity.
V = variable
Bank: 100 units
Goal: V25% of bank ( 125 units )
Select 3 runners, no more.
,
Bet amount limit V20% of Goal (20 units )
If bet cost exceeds the V20 units, then no_bet ( prices are too low )
Stop after V3 losses, or chase losses or refine selection method.
Stop when V17.5 % of goal is reached.

What this means is, make 25 unit profit on a maximum 20 unit bet.
You can increase max bet to make it 30 units max for 25 units profit, if your choice is lower priced runners.

There is more to this strategy, but that's a basic start.
It's not the math, it's the application ( strategy ) of it.

And in the end picking the right races to apply the strategy is the key to it.

You can't do this on all races.
