Just to rehash a few experiences on " making a ststem" vs " bells n whistles automation-expectation".

Whilst stiil on it, typing data manually from 20th jan 2018 raceday, so far flemington and randwick races are nearly complete.
What I'm looking for now is not how the formula is, but the why the data required ?
in other words, why did the author of the program used certain numbers, statitics etc all obtained from, in this case The Sportsman. Why the rules of what races to process, min max fields, prize money etc etc.
Then the results, and so far so good, surprisingly. Yet for that day...does it offer the same week in week out on Saturdays ?
Next step is time order, do a spread of " bet every race", then another spread using race type etc , eliminating races as per rules of the author of this old DOS program.
Then fine tune.

The point is, doing this manually, studying it when it loses, one can "see" logic.
Ok, so one of the rules is to eliminate 2 year old races, colts, fillys and mares.
Yet I processed those races, and can see why the rule of elimination.
Maybe fillys or mares when racing the same race are distracted ?

How about this ..

1. Target the most difficult races in which to pick a winner .. mares fillies, 2yo 3yo etc

2. 7 - 11 runners

3. Delete the Favorite

4. select 3-4 top chances based on any criteria - suggestions?

Cheers LG

Is it normal to now want to read stewards reports ?
My pick came last, and I want to know why, is it the system, or something happened on the day, forum curse or what ??

SR 7, 8 last
system A picked it .

system B picked the winner, and had system A's selection ironically, last.

Ironically, winning numbers were for the $1.00 bet shandy granny pickers...1,2,3...like wtfffff!

There is a better filter for these I find Duke. Not always about the favourite.

Cheers LG
