Smile Betting system stood the test of time ...

I was intending to provide updated selections and results each week for Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney Saturday racing for what I believe is an excellent betting system.

As I am currently able to provide the selections only on an irregular basis I passed.

Maybe someone would like to provide the selections and results each week?

In my opinion horses with high winning strike rates can be excellent bets provided short odds are avoided. They will quite often win at nice double figure odds. They can also add value to trifectas etc.

Here are the basic rules.

1. The horse must have a minimum 50% winning strike rate.

2. It must have had at least 10 race starts.

3. Avoid short odds. A minimum price of $5.00 is a good starting point. Judgement needs to be used if taking odds of $4.00.

That's it! There are plenty of other factors which can be looked at such as first up, time between races, how the horse fared at its previous start etc. etc.

Hope you find this system worthwhile.

Neil.

Pretty similar to some of my systems. I dont restrict it to metro. Without a price minimum returns avge price around 5.5. I run one similar for higher odds that avges around 15. Both return profit at level staking but i use my personal recovery plan to great effect and probably triple the return.

Ocho, cheers for that , I knew I'd seen it other than Chartform, but just could't remember where.

I can see 4 qualifiers today (Metro only) MR7-4 Red Bomber, SR 4-2 Malaguerra, SR4-3 Alberto Magic, SR7-6 Mongolian Khan. with only Red Bomber meeting the price criteria at this stage @$11. there's 2 in the $4 range at the mo. but that might change of course.

I'm not endorsing, I have no idea, I was just showing some interest, but one Swallow does not make "Spring" we have at least 996 selections to go before we can make a judgement.

Agree. Also worth categorising win strike rate by track condition.

Thinking not many qualifiers with minimum 50% winning strike rate (at least 10 race starts) & a minimum price of $5.00? Would expect a lot would be shorter odds.

Absolutely

In my case I've modified the main rules slightly with some good results
The horse must have a minimum 40% winning strike rate
It must have had at least 8 race starts
