Default Qld TAB Ratings

People on here over many years have liked to check out the ratings that have been displayed on the Qld TAB website and even used them in systems. They were a good point of difference.

Well, it seems like the Sky takeover that has seemingly been happening slowly but surely in Qld has claimed another victim. I was looking at the ratings today and thought they looked different. There was much more variance between top and bottom rater. So I had a thought. I checked out the Sky Ratings and sure enough. They were the same. So from now on, the Qld TAB website will obviously be displaying Sky Ratings instead of the ones they've been using for many years. Which is a bummer.

If you still want the old ratings, they are in the Sydney Morning Herald form guide... http://smhprintedition.digitaleditions.com.au/smhform/ . Other than that, you can maybe check out the "EST" rating on the Racing And Sports form guide. They aren't the same as the old Qld TAB Ratings but they are usually quite similar.

Oh, I didn't get the Courier-Mail today. The old ratings could possibly still be in there too. Not sure.

I hate when they just make changes but don't bother informing the people that use them, such as the public.

Friday's Courier Mail Form-guide has different ratings to the Tattsbet website.
Don't know if they are the old ones though.
Let me know if you want any info regarding them and if i get time between races i'll put them up.

I would say they are the same ones as previously. I reckon it's only the Qld Tab website that has changed.

I no longer use these ratings Sportz, haven't for a few years now.

My methods are based around this concept:

"Leonardo da Vinci believed that to gain deep knowledge about a problem, you have to learn how to restructure it in many different ways.
He felt the first way he looked at a problem was too biased toward his usual way of seeing things."

I now have at least 12 different angles from which to examine a race field.

Why I can hit some big divves is because I try and eliminate the obvious choices.

Ratings tend to point to the obvious.

If you want to look at mechanical selecting method, which shows their selections using a system closely related to Don Scott's ideas, I suggest racing and Sports.

Tattsbet tended to reflect them, they could have even been the same.

For those interested try R&S worksheets.

I no longer use these either.

However the Neurals can be useful to detect the Jockey and Trainer association which can be valuable when fining down a field.

Yes these have changed to the same as NSW TAB.
Previously the tatts rating would give a rating based on the horses best run ever. This was useful if the run with the rating had been recent but useless if the rating was for a run 3 years ago.

in my opinion using the TAB rating is a much better rating so don't despair. You just need to reset when to use it and when to ignore it. My understanding is the TAB rating is more focused on recent runs.

Yes, having bought the Courier-Mail today, I've seen that the ratings previously used by the Qld Tab are still being used by them, and also the Sydney Morning Herald.
