Yesterday there were eight placegetters from the twelve selections paying $12.80. I have refined (hopefully) the method.

Four selections today:
Port Mac R4 no.3 - Chocolate Point
Bunbury R1 no.10 - Yield A Star
Bunbury R3 no.10 - Bindidane
Bunbury R9 no.1 - Doctor Rosie.

Hi Michaelg,

Well done, it seems to be working. You told us exactly what you are doing at the start but you've made a few changes since then. Can you tell us what the current parameters are please?

Cheers,
KV

Hi, K.V.

The rules I use are:
1 ) No races under 8 starters.
2 ) The selection must have had at least two race starts.
3 ) Neural settings: CF = 1, JA & JT = 2, DIST & $ = 1. All others at zero.
4 ) The selection must have at least a total of 42 points.

Now for the filters:
1 ) Both JA & JT must have a minimum of 5 points each. For example, if JA has 20 points but JT only 4 points then it is a non-selection.
2 ) DIST must have a minimum of 3 points. This is a grey area and can be subject to opinion because ALL horses in the race could be allocated 3, or even 4 points. If so, its a non-selection. I've been using a rule that if all have 3 points except even one horse, then it becomes a selection providing it meets the other criteria. I'm assuming (I could be wrong here) in a case like this that the neurals are allocating each horse not a nominal amount of points but have actually calculated their ability over the race distance.

Ten selections today:
Warwick Farm R3 no.2 - The Jackal
Morphetville R6 no.1 - Kaphero
Morphetville R7 no.1 - Crimson Reign
Sandown R1 no.1 - Chakra
Sandown R5 no.2 - Tantat Secret
Sandown R6 no.5 - Pinsemtoit
Gold Coast R2 no.5 - Cackles
Geraldton R3 no.3 - Big Gun
Geraldton R5 no.1 - Classic Piece
Geraldton R7 no.1 - Recalcitrant.

Michael.

Yes, K.V., yesterday we had eight placegetters from the ten selections paying a total of $13.00. On Tuesday all four selections placed paying $5.10. Monday's selections which I did not list here had seven placegetters from eight selections paying $11.40. I don't have the exact figures but both Saturday and Sunday showed a profit. But will it continue or is it just a flash in the pan???

Five slections today:
Gosford R2 no.9 - Nisp.
Bunbury R3 no.4 - Kia Ora Miss
Bunbury R7 no.3 - The Gray Bear
Townsville R4 no.2 - Rio Grando. (Neuralmanina has selected no.1)
Townsville R8 no.1 - Alwyn Street.

Why not Gosford race 6 Elysian Thunder?

Hmm. Perhaps because it's scratched. Ah well!!

Hi, K.V.

You have probably noticed that Ballarat R3 no.3 (Charlton's Angel) would have qualified except that it only had one previous race start, and it had 3 points for Dist. Here's the puzzling aspect - ALL horses had 3 points even the unraced horses. Why??? Why 3? why not 2, or 1, or even zero? And why did the unraced horses even have 1 point. Did they have barrier trials? If so, surely barrier trials are not factored into the neurals? Sometimes the neurals throw up some baffling points, especially with CP, CF and the grandaddy of them all - TIM.

Well done Michealg,
Thankyou for sharing your findings.

It`s doing suprisingly well so far , lets see if the ever shifting sands of horse racing patterns do its "wild thing" on what appears to be a sound plan of attack.

Cheers.

I'm only guessing but maybe they start a horse with 3 points if it has no particular affinity or "whatever the opposite to affinity is" for the distance. This gives them room to move in both directions. If the race is 1200m and the horse works well at 2000m they can go backwards - say to 1 and if the horse likes 1200m they can go upwards - say to 5.
