Stats have stayed the same for over a hundred years. About a third of favourites win, 20% 2nd favs, 14% 3rd favs etc.

I use 18 different approaches or you could call them ratings criteria, on my greyhound system. I combine them into a final ratings on their impact value, but also follow the profitable ones on their own.

There is one thing I cannot fathom and given up worrying about, is that they will work perfectly on one track but not on others.
Why is it so?
I don't care anymore, just use it.

The good old impact values. They are the backbone of any good ratings method.

My impression of ratings is that the values applied would be ever evolving and I'm a great believer in the old adage that when you've discovered something of value it's too late.

You dudes who can successfully apply values and get reward from it are obviously very, very good at what you do, and I believe you when you tell me they're worthwhile.

It's not for me. Please note the above comments are made by a simpleton lol.

Snert,

It all comes down to finding what works for you and what your comfortable with. Everyone finds their own niche to be profitable from.

From what I know you do more than ok from your system bets.

Never Underestimate:

1) The influence of the media (including your Herald Sun form guides et al) and,

2) The stupidity of punters and,

3) The ability of the market (you need to understand this!!) to be able to exploit the above.
