Thanks CP for your help in this. It has allowed me to fill in a lot of gaps with times around the countryside. Initially I tried to use the times in R&S but they are "best times" for all tracks/distances/going, and I did find mistakes sprinkled here and there.

I've now "obtained" par times for tracks based on the average of the 10 best times and my list is expanding with the info you supplied. I spent a week setting up an excel spreadsheet where I can copy and paste form and rate the last 3 races with a couple of other small factors thrown in.

I really only intended to do this for saturdays racing at sydney and melbourne, however yesterday I decided to rate the Coffs Harbour meeting (I usually go to it). Race 5, a 1600m race it threw up the winner rated on top, paid $18.60,.....then in the CUP Erinsea was rated on top, run 3rd. In the last race a 1000m sprint, just for interest sake I backed the top 3 raters, with Auld Leng Sein, being the top rated horse and winning at around 60/1. Musta been a fluke,.!!!!

Something that I noticed in a heap of the "last 3 starts" at various local tracks was the odd distances,....1403,......1410,....even 1401,....and the list goes on. I'm not sure why tracks have to persistantly do this. It does throw out my VLOOKUP formulas, such a pain. It seems to happen at a fair few of the melbourne tracks also, not so much in the sydney tracks, they seem very stable.
