Default Par Times - Please help CP

Hi Chrome,

I know you were investigating in par times based on a couple of different theories you had a little while back.

Basically I have come up with a listing of par times I think are close to my calculations based on distances, tracks and rail positions. My biggest problems is track conditions.

Do you have some logic around measuring the time difference or different conditions and if so is it based on different times for a dead 4 and dead 5 or just an adjustment for good to dead.

does that make sense

Hi Vortech,
Unfortunately I've moved right away from this and have deleted my par data.
However, I can shed some light on this.
There is not a blanket +/- for track condition, it depends on the track and distance.
Some tracks slow right down, others aren't quite as affected.
Then add in distance and there is clearly a difference over distances.
I would think you need seperate par times for each track, going and distance.

Just continuing a bit with this thread. Is there anywhere you can access par times for various tracks etc. I thought that times may have been on CP's data base and one could do an average, but there are no times there.

I know that R&S do have the "best times" for all tracks/distances/going, but on the odd occasion I have found times there which just could not be true, just the odd one here and there.

Could these times be used as par times, any comments please,

Regards, Paul

Hi Paul,
Just to explain, the time isn't in the current run because the current result is done before the times are fully published. You can however calculated par times and get time data by doing a search under Last Run tab.
Input last run placing 1, run a search and all winners with time where provided by race club are there.

Hence why many publishers just use track records over distances/conditions

thanks for that Gentlemen. I shall give this is go over the weekend, and see how I go extracting them from CP's database.

I guess I am looking for as many times as I can get my hands on, throughout australia.

Just another one of my brainwaves I would like yo pursue a bit.

Regards, Paul

Hi Paul

This may be of interest but it's likely biased to USA dirt tracks.

CP,,....help,...! I put this aside for a week or so and am not trying to follow your advice on how to obtain times etc from your data base.

I must be missing something here. Can you please talk (type) me through on how to find all the times for say,..Canberra, at all the distances at that track on each of the states of going, please.

Regards, Paul
