Here's a Classic for Shopping around.

Syd R3 Hayden unitab $3.9 nswtab $5.9 sportodds $7 IAS $8.

This sort of discrepency can be found daily on numerous races.

Pays to not only shop at woolies

Cheers

Absolutely!
A classic example Kenchar.
I have quite a few systems that lose less than 10% POT, that sort of discrepancy turns them into a healthy profit.

Yes, that is a big difference.

Have you ever backed a $20 winner and been a bit disappointed. Well, last week I backed Starcraft on Unitab, totally forgetting that being a Qld horse it was sure to be shorter on our TAB than elsewhere. When I heard Bryan Martin say that it paid $36 down in Victoria, I was amazed. You wouldn't think there would be that much difference!!!

Could have been something similar working with Hayden last night. After all, Matt Hayden IS one of Queensland's favourite sons, so I guess it's no wonder it didn't pay a lot on Unitab!

This is a ************ joke if this is what the bookies and the fixed price services offer they deserve to go broke...i just check the last at WARRNAMBOOL VR and this is there market

Sportodds-130.09%
WA TAB-117.62%
IAS DIVI-108.03
IAS fixed price-136.89

with those types of markets the only place i would bet is on IAS with there divi plus if they don't cover it don't bet....the tabs cop a lot of flack but atleast there % are not that bad...when sport odds have ythere divi plus or what ever they call it maybe there price would be ok
i also has a look at betfair...and if you don't mind betting off shore this is the best place to bet with markets as low as 104%

Shaun,

As I said there is nothing you can do about the overall market, ALL you can do is have a few accounts and look for the best price on your selection.

Last year when I was at the track I used to see markets of over 150% on midweek races from adelaide and brisbane bookies.

Puntz,

WHOOPS He's disappeared again

I have both a UniTAB and a Bet-Fair account.

Yesterday I mangaged to get $2.28 a place on Bet-Fair for a horse paying $1.40 on UniTAB.

Many times I can get $1.80 a place compared to $1.40, other times they are about the same.

If you are a systems person, then having a choice markets is a must.
