All very interesting, but I wonder how many of the academics from Berkeley University, or any university for that matter, make a living betting on horses.
My guess would be none. |

Are Bot's the be all ??
Just further to my previous post, despite having a profitable week laying the Place, it would have been doubly profitable if I hadn't relied on the bot! Of the 10 accidents 8 could be attributable to the bot not being able to filter selections.
2 accidents were Return from a Spell horses 2 accidents were 2nd return from a spell horses 1 accident was a first starter 3 accidents were that the bot Layed bets based on order of favouritism on Lay side, not Back side. Let's say I want to Lay the 6th Fav, well in these thin markets the 6th Favourite on the Lay side might be the 4th favourite on the Back side! Lesson learnt for novices like me. To conclude, you can sacrifice profit just using a bot, but it's a tradeoff between that and having time to yourself, to do other things. (Researching more 'Grail' ideas...lol) RP |

Rincon, Be a little careful with the 6th Fave (using Betsender?). They have a 5.7% WSR Sat Metro $16.48/$12.92 AAP Price and 5.0% WSR Weekday Cntry with $13.35/$11.34 AAP Price. You get down to the bot level you're looking for at 8th (3.5%), 9th (2.5%), 10th (2.2%), but by this time you're into $25-$50 territory. These are races 8-16 Field. You can control Betsender by upping the lowest acceptable Price. Regards |

Yeah I've been working on a 6% across the board for the Win. Interestingly 6% = odds of 15, divide by 5 equals odds of 3 or 25% Place strike rate or $4.00. I've averaged my Divs for the week, there were 61 bets for an average Place div of $3.89. So I'm pleased that the bookmakers calculation, as revealed by CP, is almost spot on with the actual. I've had a filter of $5000 min Place pool that thins out selections dramatically. I think the tactic might be, hope to get 3 wins in a row straight up so you've doubled your stake, then call it quits! Good luck today, RP |

Interesting that you have mentioned that RP - I have found that manually managing my places bets, either back or lay, substantially adds to the bottom line, for a number of reasons. Good to hear it's not just me |
