Default Bumper Sticker: System punters do it all over the country!

OK!!

With that rather dubious title, I am inviting people to submit their systems under the following rules to this particular thread. No prizes, but we'll elect a winner between us all, and if we can't agree then I'll break the deadlock.

Here's the rules:

Must be able to be bet in every state in Australia, every day, on all gallops meetings.

Must not involve rules that involve watching the tote. IE, must be able to be worked out, and put on and forgotten about.

Must be calculable by the "man in the street" with the formguide, ie must not need a degree in classical piano teaching theory with an honours in quantum physics to understand. Must basically be a "form guide" system, the best kinds of systems! The kinds our forebears used to work out on the bus/train to the races, then re-jig on the ride home when it lost.

Can involve tipsters polls etc, tipsters, paper prices, recent form, overall form - anything that's contained in a reasonable newspaper form guide can be used.

Why run this?

No idea. But let's see what we come up with.

A bit light on the replies there mate, I'll have a go but the problem is who's got the time to keep track?? (no PUN intended there hee hee!) another problem is WHAT form guide as my system uses WA TAB FORM aceeptable or what?

OK here we go it's called the old 1-2 system the selection is the pre-post fav in the WA TAB form providing it is TAB no 1 or 2 , and also finished 1st or 2nd last start. IF it doesnt qualify then the selection is the 2nd forcast fav providing it is TAB no 1 or 2, AND finished 1st or 2nd last start. thats it! if no qualifier- NO BET THAT RACE.

PS. Bet is 1 unit win TOP FLUC up to 4/1 or best of 3 totes more than 4/1

It is a wonder you haven't been swamped with simple systems. How does this fit ?
Bet on any horse unplaced last four starts, at price =< $9, only one selection per race.

Hi Guys,

this is my first post to the forum, so I thought I'd jump in here.
I found an old note book of mine (must be nearly 20 years old) that I had written a lot of stats in from various sources.
Sources like - Warren Block, PPM, Rem Plante etc....

1) Horse must have had at least 2 starts from a spell

2) Last start must have been unplaced, but finished within 3 lengths of the winner.

3) Last start must have been within 21 days (inclusive)

Cool, some responses. This is good.

partypooper - any paper at all is OK, so long as you can get it in a newsagent somewher in Aus.

As to keeping track of them, I am no way in the world going to have time, we'll have to keep track ourselves a bit. I don't even know if we're going to run it for a bit and see who's winning or what.

Suffice to say, I haven't thought this through at all. Just whacked up the post.

Anyway, here's a sys from me:

1. Must be third up from a spell.
2. Must have placed (1st, 2nd or 3rd) resuming.
3. Must have finished 4th or worse last start.
4. Must be back within 14 days.
5. Must not be scratched.

Here's todays selections, on this unbelievably (some might say asbsurdly) simple method:

5/04/2006,sanh,Race 3,11,MISS TSUNAMI
5/04/2006,sanh,Race 7,8,HOW UNCANNY
5/04/2006,devo,Race 4,4,TAMAR VALLEY
5/04/2006,ipsw,Race 2,5,SHAYCAN SILVER
5/04/2006,asct,Race 2,1,AIR RACE
