Thanks TS.

If it wasn't for the ideas thrown up by other contributors I would not have even looked at this.

This is the great thing about forums!

It is a pity we have to put up with all the other rubbish!

Good luck to you today.

Hi, Try.

The original rules as you outlined on another thread you indicated you looked st only the top three selections in the Best Overall panel.

But rule 1 on this thread can be read that the four, not three, in the panel are looked at?

Yes Michaelg,

Only the 3 horses mentioned in the Overall panel are considered.

Well didn't we come crashing down!

Only 6 winners from the 30 selections for a loss of $9.40. Eight seconds could have helped if a few had gone a little harder!

There's always tomorrow, or is there?

After testing the ratings for 9 months for sky I found the only edge to be made was to categorise the races into Class / Venue / Distance and Field Sizes.

Not just looking at the overall top rated horse but the different variables on offer from the DFS Form. With ratings on DFS, Recent, Time, Best, Distance, Class and Overall there is many options available.

Just takes a long time to collect the data and I didn't know how to automatically do the process.

Try, the selection is the highest in the Unitab rankings (97-plus points) of the three horses we consider, but it might not be the highest in Sky's Best Overall rankings.

Did you keep records if the selection was the top, second or third highest in Sky's Best Overall rankings, and their points?

For example, the selection might have been the third ranked horse in Best Overall with only one point higher than the fourth ranked, and 10 points less or more than the highest ranked. This would mean that Sky only rates it as having the third best chance in the race closely followed by the fourth, yet Unitab has it on top. One can believe that more credence is attributed to Unitab than Sky?

There are quite a few aspects that an be looked at, but unfortunately Sky removes their info the day after the race, so one bad day does not necessarily mean it's a bad method.
