Thumbs up Lark Hill Trials

The fastest heat winner of the day was the handy country class mare Twin City Girl. She normally races well fresh so watch for her return.

Of the other heats unraced 2YO filly Sprintess and the unraced Fimiston stallion Reign Of Fire were both impressive.

Sprintess set for her race debut Bunbury R1 tomorrow

Didn't take long for Paul Harvey to get amongst the winners again - a winning double and a 2nd. Winning doubles also to Jessica Valas and the very underrated Shaun McGruddy.

Hope you all followed! Lyrical Queen won easily again Ascot yesterday. Same race stablemate Sir Chalmers ran a very good 2nd. A well deserved result for trainer Barry Newhham!

Default grey matter

Silver Deck and Strawb Knows (2nd), Jay Marttiini and Tick Tock (3rd), Wool Zone (6th) and Heavy Handed (8th) make up the grey brigade at Bunbury today.

I had Sir Chalmers rated on top but did save on Lyrical Queen. Boy those blinkers are really working for Lyrical Queen!!

And a great effort to get the first two Cheda! My assessments went out the door when the rain pelted down at Flemington. The only saver was a little EW It's Picnic in the last. Thought the last 'smelt' of a roughies result so quickly perused form of those over 20/1 and with some wet form. Didn't pick up It's Picnic first time around, the form guide didn't show any wet form for it, but on perusing another guide noted it ran 3rd in the slow at Sandown early 05 so included, thank goodness!! No doubt robbo was on board also, hey robbo?!

Steve, just out of interest, when you say " 'smelt' of a roughies result " what criteria did you use to classify the race as such?
