Snert, if you come up with a backing system which loses 20% then you look to see how the system will go as a laying system and vice versa. All the best systems are not obvious otherwise everyone would have cottoned on.

Hey Puntz,
Thats the funniest and truest video I have ever seen.

********zser. Wouldnt I like I like to go off sometimes at these pests who go out of their way to ruin others threads.

DD, yeah I know... he does a send-up on betting but cant find it anymore.
there are parralels, a good thread with "audiance participation" and one in the audiance always mutates the thread, lol MUTANTS !!

Anyway, was looking to apply some rules from here so far, combine with mine, ( credit goes to Mark in fact, he posted the pre-poster ages ago here), but I've used it as a way to check at a glance the realities between pre post market and whats actually going on when the market opens for that race on the day, as a guide....
so if you see a horse pre posted at say 15/1 and opens or comes in lower, then it gets my attention. Or viceversa, it's pre post 6/1 and blows out past 10's, then ya know something has changed or whatever... with more rules to refine, again at a glance, ya might snag it.

Hi Puntz.

I do the opposite of that.

If its listed say @$7 and it blows out I,m in there quick as grease lightning.

Amazing how we all think differently in this game.

Cheers.

Ok, collate some rules as posted, ..select and post selection.
Some of us wait till last minute market prices, whatever.
So there should be no rule like " post the night before" etc. As long as a selection is posted BEFORE the race starts.

partyp said the word, value, or is it Value, ( uppercase V )
I don't recall Value ever being defined and unanimously agreed on it's definition, for odds and racing here yet.
I have read $1.75 is Value, or 15/1 is Value... debated many times.
my take on Value is always with V, because it's not about 15/1 being higher than $1.75.

Is it true odds vs whats on offer ? So if it's true odds calculate to $1.50, but $1.75 is offered, does this illustration define Value ?

Some won't bet on a calculated $1.50 true odd runner if it falls to $1.30, yet it wins.
Is this stubborness or shrude punting ?

Punzt, yeah i wasn't saying that is the case, I was merely saying that is what we are led to believe? it's always confused me, one mob. is saying only back it if it shortens and the other only if it represents "value" i.e. you can get a greater price than the rated price..... Huh?
