Peter,

Google "Crystal Ball horseracing system.".
The rules are all on there.

Cheers

Hi darky.
I did that and came upon an American website that seems to have bigger and more outlandish claims and hyperbole than Punter's Pal Monthly here. Couldn't find anything else.

The original system was from Grandstand Publishing and apparently came as a bonus system. The part I was interested in was that it had something to do with trainer moves apparently. Sounded like some of the ideas that the much maligned punter57 might have come up with.

I have been looking at the horses for quite a few years now but am only a neophyte, not an x spurt at all. That's why I only ask the occasional question and don't contribute much to the debates as I feel I don't have anything much to contribute given the wealth of knowledge that a lot of the other contributors have, I feel I'd only be telling people what they know already.

Thanks for taking the time to give me hand with that darky.

Hi Peter,
The rules are on the UK punters forum.
If your thinking of that Australian mob dont waste your money.
If you do then you,ll see what I mean.

Cheers

Here you go Peter.

All Race Meetings

Look For the Shortest priced Fav at the meeting that is NOT odds on.

If there are 2 or more quoted at same price preference goes to the race with fewer runners

In that race bet the 2nd Fav .

Never use more that 6 meetings on any day

Staking

112234

Cheers and enjoy

Thanks for all that darky plus the warning. I've been through my system buying stage, as I'm sure many on here have. Bought my first one in 2000, the 'Dark Horse 2000' , subscribed to the magazine and bought a couple more systems.
Then I noticed that the articles in the magazine seemed to be just the same old stuff regurgitated although I will say that there were some interesting ideas and at least it was a good starting point.
I did buy one system from Grandstand, hence me still getting their flyers, The Double Duece but nothing since then.
I find I can acquire more knowledge by reading this forum. Luckily enough I suppose, I'm one of those guys that doesn't "have to have a bet" so am quite happy just studying and doing my own research.
I'm sure that mine is a familiar tale and that many here have been through the same stages but are just further down the road and the more knowledgeable ones are even making a quid at it.

Funnily enough a few years ago when the Horseman's Bookshop was still open in Sydney, amongst all the new and second hand books there was a big cardboard box on the floor full of old discarded 2nd hand systems, nearly all from a Popular Punting Magazine, the "Systems Graveyard" so to speak. Most of the systems that had sold for $100 plus could be had for between $5 to $15.

I'm sure there's a message there for all of us

Hi Peter,
A few years ago a number of us used to swap systems with each other so a commercial system didnt cost us a zac.
It doesnt run now as most of us recognized that most were,nt worth a bumper.
However in amongst most of the fluff there was a gem or 2.
The one I found the best I still use with great results over many years.
Personally though I use the Don Scott ratings.
Many systems can be built around these ratings using Uselessbettors Data Base.

Cheers

Doesn't take long to find a selection, as rarely is the bottom weight 53.5, yet alone the favourite.
