As everyone seems to concentrate on the Class Metro races, I'm going to start posting Midweek Country selections for one race per weekday. They will be my top three for the race as per media tipsters.
Let's see how we go!

Wednesday

Mornington Race 6

#1 - Let's Went
#2 - Pomeroy
#8 - Mr. Gorsky

Hi E.I.

Thanks for your many posts. Make interesting reading! I appreciate this topic too, as I believe there are many opportunities to be found in the ordinary mid-week races.

You seem to be judging the success or otherwise of this topic by treating all three suggestions equally. In other words, betting on all three for a win. I, personally, like this way of gambling on the ponies because you have three running for you and your money. And anything can and does happen in a race (as we all are aware).

The down side, of course, is that two are going to not win!! This dilutes the return markedly unless a longshot gets up.

Does anyone have a good way of betting, and progressing your betting, when you are backing more than one horse in a particular race?

I understand about 'Dutch' betting; but that is not really the answer to my question.

Any ideas??? :???:

Hi Merriguy,

Actually you are right in regards to you have to have two losers and that dutching is not really the answer here.

I am looking at the top three rated runners (by me) in the race and if you were to follow the tips, you would back the value runners.
E.g. The $1.60 winner was obviously no value, but the $8.80 winner was over the odds, in my opinion.

Also I am keeping track of the quinella factor as this can increase POT and it's happening quite regularly (in other scenarios) that at least two out of three run the place.

So what I am trying to achieve is win bets on value runners, and good odds on quinella bets.

Thanks for your input.
