Default Excel Guru needed.

Hi all. I am currently running a spreadsheet which is really going well (staking) but I would love to change one of the columns (formulae) but have no idea how to go about it.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, and I think that any taker would love it the way it is anyway.

Any or all interested please contact me on sabutpg at tpg dot com dot au.

Thanks in anticipation.
Enjay

So why not post the current Formula here?
And tell what you would prefer it to do.

OK. No problems. It is a target staking plan whereby 1-6 is my target of 40. Obviously loosing bets are added to the target. This is working fine and when in this mode bets are increased until winners bring back the target to 40.
There is another column (l)which is the bank and fluctuates up and down.
I would like to, if possible have the target made into a % of the Bank only when it peaks. In other words is my bank were $500 and reaches say $550 I would like the target to remain at that level and not reduce.

=IF(I6-K6<40,(40),(I6-K6)) Bet 6

=IF(I47-K47<40,(40),(I47-K47)) Bet 47

If not possible, any suggestions as to how to do it manually.

Thanks
Enjay

I don't understand this statement.

Is the current bank in Column "I"?
Is the current target in Column "K"?
Is the target ALWAYS $40 even if you have won $20 of it?

I think you would need to add MAX to your Formula somewhere.
Along these lines , as I ain't got enough data.
=IF((MAX(I1:I47))-K47)<40,(40),(I47-K47))

Sorry Enjay.
I'm not getting it.
I don't understand what it is you are wanting.
Wait till Shaun rolls up - he pretty clever at this stuff.

All I can say is
if you put "=MAX(L:L)" into say Cell M1 , it will tell you the Peak your Bank has ever reached.
Then if you want say 10% of that , you can put say "=M1/10" into cell M2
I would like to help but my head hurts.

I know how to do it, just working out the best option but basically we use a macro to record the high bank point then you can just compare to that.

Enjay, the default target is always 40 after you win and back in profit?
I use a similar method, default target is let's say 25, PLUS if win and paid under, the target is 25, plus the difference between the actual return and expected return, = new target.
That way it does not have to "talk" to the bank amount.

So if i bet 10 units, and price was 5, but got paid on 4.50, then my new target would be 25 plus 5, (30)
If i got paid 5.00 or over, then yeah, i go back to my default, 25, in your case 40

Yeah ?

Thank you for all the replies. I now have a solution thanks to a PM from another member.
And to you Puntz or anyone else, try using my attached file. Just follow the instructions included and you can change the settings to suit yourself.
It is really a good plan.
The original designer of this plan recommends a divisor of 10 and 1 to 2% of the bank as your base bet.
Thanks again.

Cool

Thanks for the offer Enjay. Prefer to go it alone with my 25...however, the 25 is in direct proportion with whatever betting bank is in that particular portfolio....ie, selection method/s or fixed prices etc.

One portfolio i'm chasing now is "mates-tips" you know the ones, they tell ya about a sure thing, i don't back it and it wins. Then the next 3 tips i do back, lose. I'm down 80 on this one particular "in the know" type of tipping "services" at the local.
So my target is now 80, plus the 25. Makes it a new target of 105.
Problem is, this mate say's not to tell anyone what he tips.

Is there a staking plan for this type of selection method?
