Also won the Newcombe Medal for a third consecutive year, matching the record of compatriot & inaugural recipient Sam Stosur

Going OK Australian Open where Ash (first round) became the first Aussie player to win a match at the Australian Open without dropping a game since the event moved to Melbourne Park in 1988.
