Default Synth surface at Geelong track?

Hi guys.

Just saw on the news that Geelong is getting a sythethic surface.

Does anyone know what sort, (if any) of testing has been done on this surface or what the expected results upon racing will be?

Alex.

From what I've read its the same type of synthetic track that was installed at Ballarat training track a couple of years back. Also been installed at Seymour and in Canberra. It's able to handle all weather conditions and provides a better cushion for the horses and has a consistent surface. Also significant lower maintenance costs as it doesn’t require watering.
