Default The BEST Filters

Ins:
1. On Pace Runners
2. Last start within 14 days - could be 7 days (even better I think)

3. Best place SR

4. Top 4 in average prizemoney weighted towards the recent years racing.

Don't worry about:
1. Weight (unless it's gone up 4kgs+)
2. Barrier

Be wary of:
1. Horses who have raced well in group company and are dropping back in class - they could have had the guts run out of them and will also be under the odds.
2. A horse that ran a really top race last start flashing home - It MAY have peaked and again will be under the odds.

not bad ..... read 3,766,894 posts and summarised them in a few lines !

My dermatologist started from scratch

Think that may depend on what you are filtering, ratings for example i am 100% convinced that the "BEST" filters are race filters, not these horse filters.

Of horse filters i would have to include no spell (90day) in last three starts,it gets right to the fitness issue and takes the uncertainty out of it,a horse could have raced within the last 14 days but that on its own doesnt mean its fit,it could be returnin g to fitness, its a very different thing.

I also love to filter to race starts, fresh reliable legs who have yet to hit their career peak, cant go past a 19 race starts or less filter.

One thing that always bothered me about race fitness and last starts, what stops a trainer conditioning the horse to win the race, train the horse over a distance and run the horse at the pace you set for the race you are contesting.

I,d add,

1 - 4 Last start and within 2 l of winner at 1000 - 1600 and within 3 L of winner at the 1650 - 3200 .

Good to see a thinking punter.

Hi barny.

After doing all the filters to improve my ratings (ratings 1st mechanical 2nd
for me anyway you know them all.

1=Check last two starts starting price of each runner add them together.
2=Profitable form lines horses last two starts.
3= Is my horse firming or easing in the betting etc etc.

The one filter that drastically improves my (FINAL SELECTIONS)
is the country where the horse was sired.

You wouldn't believe how many losers i have saved betting on just
because my selections are bred in argentina brazil france japan etc.

The other side to it is in some states country metro prov i can safely,
contain my ratings to certain ones eg australia usa ireland vict metro.

Not sure why this filter works when so many others i apply are much,
of a muchness as i am certainly no breeding ************.

It MAYBE a filter to improves ones strike rate it certainly helps mine.

cheers
garyf.

Here's factor that not many would have heard of.

That is...
Delete any runner that won its last start 17-39 days.

For whatever reason , their SR is very low.

I manage to successfully Lay many Favs not to win with this factor of
LSW 17-39 days.

Dale, I too like horses that haven't had more than 20 starts, I just assume that they've got some improvement still in them, or at the very least, they're not going downhill with age (I speak with authority here !)

garyf, I'm just scratching my head with this filter of where in the world the horse was sired ?? WOW ! That's definitely worth a look, there's got to be some reason and logic there. Thanks, I'm going to research this one.

bhagwan, the 17 to 39 days too is a really good filter. You've posted plenty of really, really good stuff on here, and many of your posts are to do with looking at deleting runners. This one would be quick and easy to see and do too !! So, for mine, a LSW 7 or 14 days to be considered !

thanks darky & shaun too !!!

To check where the country that the horses sire was bred in there are several

1= risa

2= racenet

3= dynamic race odds (sub required)

When nothing appears beside the horse it means the
horse is bred in australia for eg

Happy giggle
Lonhro
Elvstroem
Testa rossa (etc)

Google up (racing information services australia)

On the right side menu click on form guides.

Click on state then meeting required scroll down

Sires country are listed beside the horse.

If no country listed the horses sire is bred in (AUSTRALIA.)

Or google up supertab dot com dot au
Left side menu click todays racing.
Click on meeting.
Click on form beside any race.
On the top right hand side under the skyform banner is the word print.
Hover mouse over the print and a dropdown box will appear.
The third option down says D.F.S. racebook click that.
When it loads the sires and their countries are besides the trainers name.

These are the ones that are free that i recommend.

Cheers
garyf.
