I was wondering about using Don Scott's and Neural ratings in assisting a final field to Dutch bet.

I have my own methods of elimination but was hoping to use these ratings as well to refine my final field.

The problem I have is where do you make the cut and eliminate runners in each of the ratings?

Any ideas from the "experts" would be appreciated

Looking at rankings between 1 to 6

Don Scott Ratings hits around 74-75%
Neurals hits around 72%
Tab numbers 1-6 around 66%
API Rank 1-6 around 69%
Win Rank 1-6 around 78%

Nice to see you're still in the dutching game, I hope you're fit and well!

The general rule of thumb with ratings is that the more exposed the form the better, as the ratings are assessing previous runs over track, distance, in the going etc.

Thus it stands to reason that the more horses in the field that have run in similar conditions to today, the more accurate the ratings.

Lord Greystoke put up a set of excellent filters which I can't find but went something like this, with a few of my own added for good measure:

- No 2yo/3yo/maidens
- no mares races
- minimum class 3 or BM60
- no more than 2 resumers in the race and they cannot be in the first 4 lines of prepost betting.

What kills most Dutching ideas is the run of short priced favs getting up in spite of their questionable form.
So
Try & go for races where the Fav is say 3.50 or 4.00

Also field sizes can play a big part on the runs of outs, so try for fields of
10-11 & less works stronger than the larger fields , where more outsiders have a greater potential of getting up.

Have conducted a number of "Dutch trials" myself over the last few weeks.

Realised I must be on the wrong tack when Rembrandt got up on the stand and told me to back them nags on the nose one at a time, instead.

A good example today - when I did the numbers at the end of the day, POT stood at 45% but when I stripped out the saver bets I had punted in each race along the way(none of which got up!), it was closer to 75%.

The lesson to learn for me here, remains the same - when you start to pick winners.. put your Dutch pain-t brush back in its box and back your own judgement!

Thanks "experts" for your help with using Don Scott's ratings and Neurals..another string to my bow.

I have been researching BetBotPRO (BBP) to see if it is easier to dutch bet than going via Tattsbet or Betfair.

"Experts" I have noticed seem to use BBP? Bhagwan has mentioned it numerous times.

I have been unable to find a video especially related to Dutch betting using BBP.

I am assuming it would be easier to dutch with BBP? Can I using BBP do the following?

Investing $200 per race and the favourite is say $3.00 or a $67.00 bet approx.....and bet the remaider of $133.00 over say 6 or more horses. I am assuming BBP does this?

Can I ensure I am going to make a profit before the race is run using BBP or do I have to use a dutch calculator?

How much time do I need before the race do I need to place a saver bet and split the rest?

Or am I wasting time and not purchasing BBP?

You won't dutch 6 or 7 runners and make a profit, dutching is only useful if the runners you are looking at are similar in price, say a runner at $3 then a couple at $5 or $6 if there is a huge difference in price then you are undervaluing the higher priced runners.
The truth is when dutching you are going to hit those $10 and $20 winners and all you will have on them is 10% or so stake.

When backing multiple runners unless you can show a level stakes profit on each selection at that price point compared to the S/R at that price point you are better off not backing that selection.

If you want to use the fav as a Saver bet then you need a Variable Dutching program to bet the Fav so that it breaks even, should it get up.

Fairbot has that facility with automatic input of prices.
You can also Google for a Variable Dutching Bot
Ozracetools has a manual price input version .

Or
Bet all 3 Horses level stakes if Fav is approx 3.00
Bet all 4 Horses level stakes if Fav is approx 4.00
5 Horses with 5.00 fav ect.

You can do this with BBP
Set EXTRAS at say 1st Fav >= 4.00

That way only races with a Fav at 4.00+ will be targeted.

If you are prepared to cop say a small loss if fav should get up, then set the EXTRAS at say 1st Fav >= 3.50
To Bet 4 horses.
That way you get more bets & some higher value on the other 3 horses.


If the others are at a good price it would pay to bet level stakes on 2 or 3 horses where the Fav is 2.50+

Try level stakes out in Sim mode first.
Say 11 runners & less.
Where there is a 2.50+ Fav. using EXTRAS filter.
Targeting 2-3 Horses a race.

I now have a better understanding of what I can and can't do with my dutch betting.

I have a question to "Vortech" regarding his ratings... what is "Win" short for?
I understood all the other abbreviations..and thanks.
