Yeah 14/1 great overs! Summer Haze 3rd same race 30/1 The rest not so good although Call For Freedom a non starter. Tributon ran a nice race to finish 5th & should be further improved with that run.

Default Marasco

On track to return (plan A) August 4th. Belmont 1200m handicap with a maximum top weight of 60kg. Good chance Damien Oliver will ride or (plan B) August 18th WFA event to be ridden by Paul Harvey or William Pike.

Nice surprise for those that can get out to Belmont tomorrow!
Marasco will appear in an exhibition gallop over 1200m between races.

Default grey matter

At Belmont today the grey brigade have representation in R2 Spirited One strong winner first-up & suited the extra distance. Teaken also a strong winner first-up & suited the extra distance. Delpak (drawn wide) & Simply Adorable (inside draw) are first starters. R3 Call Of Freedom scratched last Sat for this. Moondance Magic a bit an in or out customer but has won in the city over 2200. R4 Wongkaew won nicely this course last week. R5 Calarosa Donna needed the run first-up, fitter. R6 Just A Halo will be up with them, although the 1650 could test. R8 River Mist looked disappointing last start when given every chance but this race looks a bit easier this time & has the claim again. Zorobo weakened noticeably over 1300 last start but does drop back to 1200 & drawn well.

Default MARASCO

D. Oliver has elected not to ride Marasco or El Segundo but instead will pilot the fabulous Haradasan.
Must be really something to have a choice between such brilliant horses.

I thought that Marasco was a shade disappointing (although racing wide) in his exhibition gallop yesterday when edged out by stablemate Super Dragon.

In an interview immediately after the gallop Fred Kersley commented that the gallop had indicated to him that Marasco was not as forward as he had thought.

When questioned on how Marasco would go first-up (Aug 4th) Fred gave no real indication, mentioning quality of opposition (amongst other things) and the fact that Marasco hasn’t always gone extra well first-up previously. From what I can see his first-up record is pretty good.
