Last 12 Months API
How important is the last 12 months API? Some form around show this and for races where there is plenty of current form it can give a fair indication of where the cream is but is it that simple?

Hi Twodogs Although the API is a relevant factor, it is already factored by the market correctly. Personally, my betting approach is to ignore those elements that the market already prices accurately and focus on an approach that combines those variables that it doesn't in conjunction with speed performance ratings. There is then a process with which these variables are weighted and then overlaid against the likely race map to produce a set of probability assessments that I then use to bet off.

I hear you Paul!
The market is a very good pointer but isn't always right with some strange horses short in the market which surely shouldn't be. Horses that haven't won in 18 months as an example. Cheers Twodogs |
