Hi All,

Ihave a problem sum XL hotshot can help me.
Eg. When I type a number into a cell it div. it by 100 --- 3 displays .003, 156 displays 1.56 . This on all my files old and new. Nothing in Tools/Options/Calculations.
Be pleased for any help as hard to do rating without spreadsheet.

Right click at the top or the colum go to format cell then number on the top left set it to what number format you need

I agree with Shaun. If you select all cells affected and goto menu Format->Cells and under Number tag select General or Number for decimal from the lookup list. At present it may be a custom number with a format like below.
"0.00"#

Thanks Shaun,Punter Pete,Puntz.

Finally got back to it(10.30 am)and found it. Wasn't in 1 worksheet but in all my 293 Workbooks years old so knew it wasn't in Format/Cells. So had to be in Tools. It was,Tools/Options/Edit--Fixed Decimial. Removed the Tick. Now I can put a number in a cell and it dosen't change.

ok np...well thats not a standard setting so some one has set that at one point....that site that puntz put in earlier is one of the best you will find very active...i have posted a problem there and have had a response sometimes with in an hour....or use the search part of it great help
