tab numbers

Hello all...Im new to OZmium also to betting horses and im doing my research. Ive come across the term tab numbers a lot. Please tell me what a tab number is and where in the daily racing form they are found? Please forgive my obvious rookie-ness. Thank you very much.

They are just the number of the horse situated on the left hand side of the horses name.
