Interesting question you have asked. Will enjoy seeing the results of your query.

Probably teaching you "to suck eggs"; but the best tote has to be sought out. The $1.50 was the worst of the three Oz totes for the place. Unitab's $1.70 is only 20c more --- but a huge 40% better income.

Cheers

Thumbs up

Cheer up. It only paid $1.60 on Unitab not $1.70!

Have just tried to find an idea fom Testarossa from a few years back. Seems to have been deleted (too far back??). Did find this thread which I began:
http://forums.ozmium.com.au/showthread.php?t=3151

He seemed to have great success with the place -- only a few bets a week; but an 80% strike rate. It was basically four "all ups". He said at an average price of $1.30 he, with beginning bets of $50, made something like $13,000 in a year, gradually increasing the bet with the bank going up. (figures are from my memory only)

I have tried it; but the danger is in wanting to have too many bets. If you lose, you lose all four bets. For that reason I would like to study Stix's friend's idea.

Good luck.

Red face

I think you would need a high strike rate for this one to work?
As you would get into a lot of trouble with the run outs and for ever recovering past debt.
My two cents worth

Default staking

Interesting yesterday my selections and bets were as posted earlier.
Echuca 3 7 $1.50
6 9 $1.50

The other races which i selected in but did not wager also came in but I have certain rules to abide by and I am very strict about these.

Echuca 2 5 $1.20
4 2 $1.20
5 3 $2.30
7 2 $1.40
8 6 $1.20

Strike rate 100% would have made a great all up bet 1 unit would have returned 15.64

Unitab Total $10.80 average $1.54
Melb Tab Total $10.60 average $1.51

It is also interesting when a horse shows $1.04 usually returns more...and when a horse is normally showing $2 or slightly under it crashes. ( I am talking of favorites) Mug punters money I guess.

Food for thought

A similar plan is called ,
THE CRUSHER
One increases their bet only after a return, repeat bet after a loss
e.g. 1p,2L,2L,2L,2p,3p,4L,4p,5 ect

Start again once in profit.

Another is the ,
DUEL PROGRESSION
Start of with betting in lots of 2 e.g.112233445566ect.
One increases the bet by 2units after a return .
Start again once in profit.
1L,1L,2L,2L,3L,3P,5P,7P,9L,9L,10L,10P,12P,14 ect.
This one can be used also for win only or eachway betting.

Try both out on some past results first, before betting any real money on this.
See which one suits ones style after working out how large a bank one needs then double the bank size.
This should give one the confidence needed for this sort of thing.

Cheers.
