Just have to waite until the last couple of minutes. The book % is 491. If you now what price you want you can ask for that price, click on back put your price in submit, it will come up on the lay side for someone else to give you those odds.

These are the odds you could have had

No 12 odds of ...120/1 ...uni tab $45
No 13 ..............10/1 ................$ 7
No 4 ............. .25/1.............. $33 (would have been matched at 50-80 /1)

Have to find my way around yet, and read the instructions. There were 3 columns for backing , which is relevant? Also is there a place bet?

Take things slowly --- you will soon get the hang of it. The coloured tabs are the current prices (bet and lay).

If you go to the left of the screen you will see 'Search Markets' and under it 'All Markets'. Scroll down that heading until you come to 'Horse Racing -- Today's Card', click on it and the races will be indicated as they are due (You have to keep scrolling on that list as time goes along). There you will see if there is a Place Market too. There usually is.

Good Luck.

Take your time it takes a bit to get used to, you will make mistakes (we all have) sometimes they are good mistakes sometimes not.

Now you tell me!!
I thought I could back two horses with one bet, but I was wrong and by the time I worked my way back, it was canceled or "suspended"?? so I missed out on a win.
In the place section, the prices seem to be in pounds, can I change that?
Also, the whole site seems to be very slow, tried to download some Betfair tool and could not even connect to it. (no probs. with other sites!)
If I could put in my bets either automatically or before the race, specifying a price, it would be great. Any Betfair tool for that?
Thanks for the help, much appreciated.

PS.

Definitely have to learn how to drive this.
So far succeeded to put in 2 losing bets, missed out on 4 winners or place bets for various reasons, like the last one because the min. bet is $6. Bet more than $6 before so I did not know.
I think I give it a miss and recoup the day on the TAB.
Try again when I have time to work out how to do it.
Thanks again

Iomaca, you've just had some teething problems.

Have all your serious bets with the TAB until you get used to the Betfair interface and play around with small stakes on the new interface.

Once you get used to everything and back a $5.00 TAB horseat $12.00 with Betfair, you'll never go back.

On Friday night I backed a $1.10 pacer at $1.60 Betfair - you just can't lose if you look for value. Well you can lose, but it's much harder if you get good prices.
