Default Adjusting Pre post

Could anyone tell me how to adjust a pre post market after scratchings? The one I have been looking at on **************, doesn't show scratchings. Is there a spreadsheet formula you can apply to adjust the prices accordingly?

Cheers

Hi thorns,

I did this one a while ago. Have a look and see if it suits.

All horses are adjusted at the same rate right?

If a favourite horse is scratched, shouldn't the market adjust taking into account the scratched horse form?

For example, if the favourite is scratched, should the second favourite price come in quite alot more compared to a 50 to 1 chance?

Ade,
you are correct. My SS is a purely mathematical correction of the market in the event of a scratching.

Real prices could vary in regards to differing criteria depending on the make up of the race. Example - if a known front-runner was scratched, the whole plot of the race could be at issue and a horse originally at a long quote could shorten dramatically and a shorter animal drift substantially.

Once again, my SS is a mathematical correction only - the melon on your shoulders should be employed for a more
accurate appraisal. :-)
