4 Horse-staking ?
Hopefully someone out there can help me.
I need a staking plan for backing four horses per race, the obvious one is Dutching, but occasionally I have a losing run of four races and trying to recoup losses on the 4th or 5th bet becomes expensive. My selection process is pretty good (I think) with 205 selected races for 135 wins= 65.85% strike rate. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. Cheers. For anyone interested heres todays selections: Caulf. R2 1,2,8,5 Caulf. R3 1,6,3,5 W/Farm R5 1,5,4,2 W/Farm R6 1,5,6,2 |

Basically your strike rate is not 65.85%. You have 135 wins from 820 bets. That is a strike rate of 16.46%. 16.46% in dollar betting odds is $6.08. What is important is the average odds of your winners. If your average winner is below $6.08 then you are trying to turn a method that loses at level stakes into a profit. That's no different to trying to stake roulette to make a profit. (Assuming you are not making any use of possible wheel bias etc.) Long term it can't be done. |

Try this
2 units on the shortest price , must be $2.50+ , otherwise ,no bet that race THEN 1 unit on the others, as long one of them is paying $10+ otherwise no bet that race. Total O/L 5 units per race We are trying to use the shortest price as a saver. Try & stop betting at that venue once a selection that qualifies for value wins & continue with the other venues I feel one has to cherry pick the races that present the said values , otherwise , one will be pushing it uphill. Cheers.

Thanks Neil, I thought it may be too hard, but am averaging $6.52 over the 135 wins.
Thanks Bhagwan I'll try your method on paper and see how it goes. Cheers. |
