Brownlow,once a year betting
Shame I'm a puntaholic and can't get my bets on fast enough.
Would love to have the discipline required below. Had enough of the ridiculous results and am now going for the Brownlow. Sure does remind me of my venture into greyhound racing where your money was regurgitated and spat out with the mad rush to the first turn. Riewoldt,Bruce,Judd and sympathies to Tiger Brown. WHAT NEXT? Do you take the huge $6 now,and sweat out on lady luck,or wait till the last few rounds and take Even money Ben Cousins. The second one punters! Been through the teams till now and most teams have shared responsibility regarding BOG.With the exception of Pavlich. And Cousins. Very little chance of suspension, and with his alertness of a rabbit, not much more of being pole-axed. Not being a big punter means I need to put $600 on later or $100 now. Or,with 12 rounds to go,perhaps put $50 on him every week until the final round. Would do the first plan but don't think I have the balls to put such a wager on in the one bet. |

Yes good try.33 to 1 last time I looked. Problem is that Hawthorn won't win enough games to get the 3 votes. |

Jumped the gun a bit with my thoughts on Ben Cousins.
There is one big unit in the Eagles team named Dean Cox. Was showing $17 and at the eachway collect of $10.50 is a better bet at the minute than straight out Cousins.Seems Juddy is doing a Crawford after his win last year. Still have concerns as to how well Mark Ricciutto performed last year, considering how few games Adelaide actually won. That situation gives Oaksnaks tip of Luke Hodge a real top show. Me money stays in me pocket for at least another 6 weeks or so. Still think an even money winner is better than a 10 to 1 loser. Mathematically it can be wrong, but financially,it comes out in front every time. |

Well if you look at the past few winners all have been involved in the ruck plays and centre clearences. Going on this trend Ben Cousins stands out among the rest, but i just feel with a potent midfield like Eagles valuable points will be stolen off him during the rounds of the likes of Cox, Judd, Fletcher.
Same goes for Hodge, with the likes of Mitchell, Crawf, Spider, Bateman. Whilst im willing to back Hodge who is just a gun and has such an influence on how we peform im having a sideways look at Shannon Grant. Ill be watching him very closely. But on friday night my other tip went out, Brownie. Such a tradegy and could have won the brownlow.

Could of?.Would of! No dangers to Hodge at Hawthorn. Be 3's on to win the tally for the Hawks. And Shannon Grant played well for the first few,but didn't rate since. Will win the Kangaroos tally. Last edited by moeee : 29th May 2005 at 06:00 PM. Reason: Added something |

If Riccuitto finishes in top 3,I'm a monkeys uncle.
$3.75 Cousins is challenged by Luke Hodge at $4.75 the place. But possibly better stil is the 33 to 1 Dean Cox or possibly Cameron Bruce at 15 to 1. No other chances at value odds. |

I won 600 bucks on round 2 and steadily lost it back plus another $200 ever since.
Not much to you,but multiply it by 20 and you will understand how I feel. |

Now i have been looking into to this Brownlow caper
Chris Judd won in 2004 and was highest disposal winner in most rounds but one thing that did standout was his tackling His stats were as follows: KICKS -317 HANDBALLS -165 Marks -49 Tackles- 80 Goals-22/13 Now I thought whats all the fuss with Ben Cousins His Stats up to RD 13 KICKS-205 HANDBALLS-117 Marks-71 Tackles-11 Goals-13/7 And finally one JONATHON BROWN Rd 6-Rd 13 KICKS-84 HANDBALLS-62 Marks-67 Tackles-9 Goals 27/10 So what does all this prove Looking at Chris Judds stats you could say that his activity around the rucks and being a team player swayed the judges(anyone know what the criteria is for points allocation) Remember last year all the fuss about Warren Trdrea and Nick(dont hurt me) Riewoldt. They didnt poll very well Centrebet has Cousins at $3.25/$1.56 favourite Jonathon Brown has firmed from $251 to $8 since before he played in round 6 I like Cousins but $3.25 is pretty short with 9 weeks to go Cheers |
