I grew up in "Beechmont" [a VERY long time ago] overlooking the coast. Our family owned the guest house there [built in the 20's] where travelers from Brisbane came up from Canungra to our place by dirt road and then on to Lamington [the coast side from O'reilly's] by horse up to the park. A flying fox took them the last bit up to the Guest House up there. Spent many years working at Lamimgton and watched a lot of hang-gliders taking off from Beechmont trying to make it to Mt. Tamborine.

I'm not telling. I feel young though.

I knew all the Groome Family [started the park] including old Arther. He used to WALK to Brisbane to raise awareness and money to have Lamington turned into a national park. The best bushman I've ever seen [I've seen a few]. Even Paddy Fitzgerald who took the tourists up to Lamington from our place on horseback and cut 100's of ks. of tracks up there, wasn't as good as old Arther. He could go out and find a new waterfall every day of the week.

He was the one who found that plane that went down in Lamington after everyone else failed to find it. Just took a cut lunch with him and said: 'I'll be back with any survivors'. He did just that and there were survivors too. Great book on him and his endeavors worth reading.

Hey kenchar,

Good to see you still kicking goals.

It strikes me that your success is all about you getting overlays.
While you might notice anomalies in the market, I reckon the real place odds of that horse was $2.00 (which it paid on the vic tote) but you were able to lock in $2.50, therefore you obtained an overlay and thus, you have to be successful in the longrun.
