God help punters, like myself that rely on vision to place bets in the last few seconds before the jump, if we have to only rely on listening to commentators for a clue of when they're about to start.

Vision has taken the edge off their skill level, spoilt them. They're usually waffling on about any old rubbish when they jump! I've heard them countless times say, " they're all loaded" and you can see for yourself that there's still one or two to load.

I'm in the same boat as you, and would be out of business if I didn't have vision.
I nearly had a heart attack the other day when there was no vision on sky.
I googled and found the reason so rang my cable co to see if I could get TVN. Luckily I can but had to change my whole subscription package to get it.

So now it's Sky and TVN just switch between the two depending where the meeting is.

It's scary when you think about how the bookmaker/exchange and service providers are changing tactics almost from week to week. You just get settled into a methodology and you have to adapt to a new attack on your expectations. When will it end?

I totally agree it is scary, but we just have to try to stay one step ahead.
Punting for a living is like sitting on a fence, fall one way and you are happy, fall the other way and you feel like crap. Well I do anyhow, I don't sit in front of this screen everyday just for the fun of it, and I hate grinding away all day with the stress just to lose $$$$. It happens, can't do anything about it, because that's the game we play, and that is one reason I stop when I have made a decent day's wage, does wonders for ones mind. Per example today 1 bet and finished before the main meetings started.
The other matter too is the net dropping out, and all the other problems of betting on line etc etc, and of course it is usually Murphie's Law that the problem happens at the wrong time.
Now I've had my whinge I will now admit I would not like to be doing anything else for a living.

I have to say TVN coverage sucks. They are not prepared to run this many meetings.

What gives me the horrors about them is interviewing trainers from a previous race and playing replays when there is only seconds to go before the start of the next. There was one occasion today when they crossed from one of these interviews and they jumped as the next race came on the screen.
I don't give a damn what happened in the last race or how the trainers grandmother is, I am only interested in the next race.
I actually have just finished, having a real battle of a day.I got out on Taree R6 with the winner but sadly only for a place.

That is exactly what I was talking about. They are suited to having time between each race. They can not cope with jumping from meeting to meeting.

I hope SKY and TVN get all this argy bargy sorted out soon, because after using TVN especially on busy days like today they can shove it where the sun doesn't shine.
You also have to have the sound muted, because the garbage the commentators carry on with drives one crazy, they think they are working for comedy central.
At least with SKY you get some serious commentary from the presenters.
SKY is certainly not perfect and I often have a whinge about them,BUT this TVN is absolute GARBAGE.

I didn't watch it today. I've given up watching TVN. This was their big opportunity to grab subscribers and they haven't done themselves any favours.
